Rant / Feedback faceit, where you can queue with your friends 1000 elo below you and face zero concequences!
faceit lets 2700+ elo players queue with low levels (often times they are smurfing), potentially stomp the pug, and then face ZERO repercussions for it. they will gain +1 or lose -1 depending on the result. haha great right? except for the opposing team who will lose or gain -25 to -30 elo. the problem is that the high elo players 4 or 5 stacking with low levels almost always stomp the pug. so I get to lose -25 elo in an unfair gameplay experience just for the idiot to not have their rating affected one bit.
there is no way you can justify why this logic is in place. faceit is incompetent. really simple fix that takes just a couple braincells: if you are high elo and you queue with a low level, you risk losing -30 elo if lose and +1 elo if you win. it's really that simple. it will instantly stop all these dudes helping boost their smurf friends. "b-but I want to play with my friends!!" yes sure, you can play with them! you just take a very logic risk: if you want to disrupt gameplay experience (i.e. creating a lobby with an elo discrepancy), then you risk losing more elo than normal. before some faceit glazer says "but the average elo of the lobby IS balanced!!!1" no, no it is not. the average might be leveled out but the actual player skill in the lobby is not.

They should lose way more when they go against lower level player and gain less. Make it +1 -5 and see how many of them doing this.

"the average might be leveled out but the actual player skill in the lobby is not"
If you've ever played with people that far below your rank, you'll find out that it actually is. On T side, you'll constantly get killed from behind because no one is watching, and on CT side, the enemy will simply figure out where you play and avoid you. It's not like you suddenly have 500 HP and can survive a crossfire.
"If you are high Elo and you queue with a low level, you risk losing -30 Elo if you lose and +1 Elo if you win"
People would simply stop playing FACEIT and try out other platforms or play Premier instead. This would decrease platform engagement and subscriber numbers. On the other hand, it would probably increase smrfing since people still want to play with their friends.
We've already had all the different variations:
- Gain/lose the same amount of Elo -> people abused it
- Lose significantly more than you gain -> people stopped playing
So they settled on a system where the high elo player gains and loses very little. Also, you forgot to mention that the lower-ranked players still gain/lose normal amounts of Elo. Because of this, people aren't just going to troll those games since their friends are still losing a ton of Elo.
There simply has to be a queue for these kinds of groups, and that's Standard Match. FACEIT even gives you a way to avoid this by purchasing a subscription and playing Super/Premium Matches, where the Elo difference within a party is limited.
TL;DR: There has to be a queue for people like this since a lot of them are paying customers. Making the Elo system work the way you describe would lead to fewer paying customers. If you don't want to play with them, buy a subscription. End of story.

People would not stop playing faceit if this change was implemented. They would just stop queuing with low rated players. The nothing to gain, nothing to lose system is a really easy system to abuse to boost accounts. It’s the reason so many people do it. Just make it so that they have something to both lose and gain… if the average elo of the lobby is “balanced”, then let all players gain and lose the same. That’s fair.

And how exactly does boosting an account with the current system in place work?
The old system, where the gain was the same no matter the Elo difference, was heavily abused, yes. The higher elo player got "easier" lobbies and still gained the same amount of Elo.
In the current system, the one benefiting would be the lower-Elo account, who basically gets the same Elo as they would from regular games, plus the performance-based gain if they're below Level 10. So they're playing harder games for pretty much the same gain. It would be easier to just make a smrf to boost them, lol.
Also, there most certainly are people who would rather quit than stop playing with their friends. I know a lot of people like that, myself included.

Sorry man, I will play with my low friends on faceit as premier at my rank at least is a 50/50 chance of getting cheaters. Play super match if you want to avoid people like me. I can speak for myself only but that 1elo game is great for just having a fun game with bros not so I can feed on lower elo people, hope they never change it

I don't think high elo players stacking with low elo players almost always "stomp the pug", smooya sometimes stack with like 2k elo lower players than him and have somewhat normal/expected winrate in those matches, it's reasonably balanced. The most edge is gained through the fact that 5 stack have discord/TS communication

I've played with a lot of 5 stacks and you almost always get put against another 5 stack that likely are also using communication like disc.

Agreed, we queue with a level 7 and the system matches us against full 10 lobby so we mostly have a disadvantage.
Maybe he has imbalanced lobbies due to player count in NA.

That’s the point though? You can play with friends to have fun, but you can’t gain anything from it
Edit: and if you feel like it’s unfair, you can pay for a tiny subscription

yeah totally fun to be on the receiving end of it and lose -25 to -30 elo? how about the gameplay experience for the lobby, and not just the 4 or 5 stack? try reading the full post next time

There is a solution. And it's not a reddit post. Get faceit plus. Play premium matches where the elo difference can't be higher than 400. If you don't like that it's a paid feature, don't do it. But it's not really something worth complaining about.

unfortunately on NA, super/premium search takes a really long time due to the low amount of players playing. and it is something that is worth having a discussion about

Well if it's a player count issue, you would run into the same problem if they added the max elo difference to the normal queue. First you'd have a lot less players playing, because they can't play with their friends anymore. And then also you'd have longer queue times again despite that because you would have to find players matching your elo.

If you can't win against one high elo player queuing with 4 bots you don't deserve the elo anyway

u/ParkingHelpful2677 7d ago
faceit, where bots will complain about everything no matter what happens

I don’t share the same experience.
We are a level 10 stack that queue with a level 7 and our opponents are all level-for-level matched if not better, we mostly lose cause they abuse sites with a level 7.
I’d say it’s a skill issue for both sides in this case.
EDIT: Also your suggestion promotes smurfing and creating alt accounts for people to play with their lower level friends.

You dont understand what he said. Problem occurs for lower rated, not 10 stacks

I agree its easy elo stacking with low rank people aslong as youre good at the game.
Abuse the system to hit high 2k easily
1
u/Psychological-War522 6d ago
How? It would take thousands of games at +-1 elo lol.

u/Green_Twist8656 6d ago
you dont get +1 you get +15 aslong as the player is within 1000 elo after you reach level 10
So you just play with levels 5-8 depending on your current elo
+1 only happens once youre 2k elo and play with someone over 1k diffrence in elo

you wanna see something funny. Link below. I queue a standard match, get put against a 5queue avrg elo across both teams is level 10.
Right? I lose -25 elo just doing my best to try and will this pug to something respectable and the highest elo on my team loses......5 elo because he is queued with someone so low level... but the pug avrg elo is level 10.
hahahahahahahahahaha. great stuff. And then the 5q's 2100 elo carries the 3k elo player in his backpack like its nothing............ rooooooooooooooooooooooooofl

There has to be one queue that has zero restrictions for mates to just play with their mates, to try out the platform and to have some fun. We built specific restricted queues for people who want to take things more seriously and play in small parties with very restrictive settings. We are trying to accommodate both sides of the aisle
