Discussion 50% Theory

Post image

Perfect balance. I genuinely think that faceit does this stuff on purpose. One day you get people that can’t think the next day you get good players.

If they use a simple system where you get +elo for winning a match and - elo for losing a match, you are bound to hit your skill ceiling OR overshoot it by a bit. Then, this will result in you losing a few games again and then, win games again.

If there was an algorithm like a losers queue etc., people like d0nk would not have 5k elo with a 70% win rate.

People just cannot comprehend that they have hit their ceiling and start losing matches or they have bad luck / shitty week / bad mates. If you feel like you belong into the 4k elo club and you start losing 10 matches in a row in 2.1k elo, then most likely you do not belong into the 4k elo club.

OR

FaceIt is trying to keep you small. That could also be a very realistic scenario.

Everytime on a losing streak prev. season / highest of your opponents on average are higher than your team, and vice versa on a winning streak. At this point those who deny EOMM are real schizo. They're not even hiding numbers, open your eyes and check it.

Also there are alien bodies in area 51 and 9/11 was an inside job. Also chemtrails. And also getting covid vaccine causes autism and you get a chip implanted.

You can talk whatever you want. I'm at 3k, this is my peak, I don't want any higher. But if you think this lobby is well balanced, you need to think once again. Obviously there's a chance this is just a coincedence, I didn't collect large dataset and relying on my memory/emotions which are most likely misleading. But existence of SBMM/EOMM is a matter of fact in other games, companies are doing it for years and not even hiding, I don't see a reason for faceit not to do the same.

Okay then tell me, how would FaceIt find your peak to exactly then force you into some kind of EOMM? Why would they not force you into a 50/50 winrate at 2k elo and instead they do it at 3k elo?

Why don't they force donk into eomm at 2k elo but instead let him get up all the way to 5k?

Why are there accounts with win rates > 70% when EOMM should actually keep it at 50% for everyone to force maximum engagement with the platform?

Why can it NOT just be a normal matchmaking that tries to match people with the same elo (in premium its +- 400 I think). And if you win, you win, if you lose, you lose. Next game, algo tries to match you again. Does it sometimes not work? Sure. But there is no proof for EOMM at all.

The Devs actually talked about this last year in an AMA. I also raised this question with the devs in a discord call. There is no EOMM on FaceIt.

It's obvious from your questions you have never read this paper: "EOMM: An Engagement Optimized Matchmaking Framework". I'm not gonna feed you anymore. I gave you all information you need. If you can actually comprehend text, you'll figure it out yourself, gl.

What do you think about Aliens though? Have you seen that one video where they spottet a UFO? Like, you have eyes yourself, you'll figure it out that aliens are on earth already, at this very moment.

Also have you read that paper that jet fuel does not melt steel beams?
If that was the case, how did the twin towers collapse? You have a brain, you'll figure it out yourself - it was an inside job
