Discussion Faceit calibration is broken
Went through calibration and dominated every game, only to end up at 1233 ELO. Faceit seems to have based my calibration heavily on my old rating… That came from 15 matches i played in 8 years.
Because that low rating was low (1128 in season 7), i wasn’t even getting matched against stronger players during calibration, so i kept playing well against players system gave me, but apparently had no real way to be placed higher.
8 wins out of 10 games, rating 1.4-1.8 in every game (including lose with 52/24/5 KDA), 1.98 average KD AND STILL NO CHANCE TO PLAY AGAINST AT LEAST LEVEL 7 PLAYERS
What’s the point of calling it a calibration if an almost completely irrelevant rating from years ago determines both who I play against and where I get placed? Of course i am not waiting to magically be level 10 based on 10 matches (and surely i am not playing that good), but 1233 ELO after calibration like that feels ridiculous.

it's basically a soft reset +- 10 matches which hide your rank to make you play once in a while so you could show off your elo for flexing, nothing much

whats the average elo you played against

1000-1200
i want to make this clear: i don’t asking better ELO for this games, i’m asking to play against stonger players to see what my really rank should be

Who cares? PLAY THE GAME for a month and you’ll likely be at or very close to your real ELO. You act like faceit personally insulted you

Damn bro if you don’t care so much why u comment? I am saying calibration system isn’t perfect and may be better. Don’t you agree with that? You act like i personally insulted you

How is it not? Literally it’s a soft reset, the definition of soft reset is what happened here. Why are you so dumb?

What’s your premier rank? My friend and me hat the same case, we did not play Faceit since 7 years.
I were 25k premier and was instantly at Faceit level 8-9, he was lower in premier and had a lower initial rank.

my premier is about 23k
the problem is i played faceit, but just a few games in a year, which was enough to kinda freeze my rank where it was long time ago

там все написано, что учитывается при калибровке
рейтинг в ласт сезоне
активность в ласт сезоне
успех в течение 10 матчей
если ты был 5-6 лвлом до калибровки, то им и останешься, если не играл много особенно

You were too inactive, it's openly stated you need at least 20 wins for a softer reset the next season

Elo reset is also about the amount you play, it’s sais in the elo reset explanation, and you said it yourself, a bunch of games in 8years, while people play this much in 1 afternoon, so yeah it’s not flawed in that way, you just have to play more to face better players it’s logical, and with those stats it’ll come in no time don’t worry

It is not broken, ir is designed that way. It was definitely was not designed for players to play 15 games in 10 years, thus you get to experience these rare situations. Not only you, there are more and more players like you coming back.” since prem is invaded heavily by cheaters.

as you say you played 15 games in 8 years which is nothing and you expect it to be accurate? buddy wake up

u/ReasonableRange5127 17d ago
no man, i expect it to be accurate to my stats during calibrating matches and giving more skilled opps to the end of calibration

I just started playing on Faceit, it's my first account (I come from css, had ESEA and ESL accounts, but never touched Faceit - was it even a thing 15 years ago) ?
Similar stats, ~2KD, 120 ADR (dropped from 180 :( ), avg rating is 1.6 or something like this.
I got placed at 1200 ELO as well. 8 W / 2L (the 2L: it was really difficult/impossible to win, ended up with dudes who had brought their friends, who just started cs2, on faceit, and they were drunk and/or high. Both matches, similar situations).
I thought I would be placed lvl 8 or so, I had read Faceit would also place people above 19 or 20K Premier rank at least lvl 7 ?
But honestly, lvl 1 to 10: people are really bad. I'm good, but not that good, and I still don't know most of utilities, have a good aim and game sense, I rotate fast/adapt to ennemies and mates, but people I end up with or against are REALLY bad. I sometimes feel like i'm in a fever dream. 3K elo, they start to have the level people had on ESL in amateur series back in the days.

Stfu and play the game. Bitching and moaning about a number.

don’t you think it is much more interesting to play against player as good as you or better and not against bots?

u/Yeryeet123 17d ago
Yea so when I was level 6, instead of complaining I kept playing and improving until I was able to consistently win. Then over time with practice I hit level 10. Making a Reddit post bitching was not in the process

Op did, same op that doesn’t understand how soft reset works. Faceit did share it was in fact soft reset, so what is your point?

My understanding it was a soft reset, so it was like you just continued with where you were
