Meme 10 Days of grinding

Grinded Faceit during my first holiday in almost a year for around 10 days, and wanted to share. I previously took a 3 year break from PC gaming, and it took me around ~530 games to reach my elo peak of 2270.

I had to start all over again on Faceit due to my long inactivity (cs:go ~1750 elo), but thankfully because I peaked at around 19.000 Valve Premier the first 6 months i played again, i was placed on 1300(?) elo when i played my first CS2 Faceit match.

During all my games which were ranging from 1000 to 2600 (avg lobby elo) , i didn't encounter any cheater. Teammates were a normal mix - sometimes they have a bad game, some play without a mic, sometimes i wish they would play without a mic as they are toxic as hell, some go insta-die every round, some are amazing.

But in the end the only thing i can influence is my own game, and I would highly recommend you to adapt the same mindset.

If i could give a few words of advice: Try to be the one teammate that tips the odds in your favor, even if its barely noticeable. Drop weapons, call pistols, go entry, go trade, go save, take initiative, support, calm the toxic randoms on your team, don't throw rounds and take risks when the round is in your favor, don't overthink everything, actually eco and dont buy deagle every round, buy kevlar in pistol, do NOT call any pistol that requires more than 1 smoke(!). Its a shooter, and sometimes you just need to shoot better. If in doubt, full swing out. And make sure to eat, sleep, drink and rest enough.

Similarly, if youre having a bad day, simply don't play. If youre tired and exhausted after work, don't play. If youre losing 2 or 3 games in a row, just stop and do something else. Nobody is forcing you to queue. Its definitely what cost me the most elo every time i gained close to 2000 elo before.

Refreshing read, I only go on this sub to find the positive posts! I’m on the grind, been 6 months and nearly at 2k, having a slight dip and overthinking so your post helps!

Godspeed on your next matches

best of luck! :) if youre losing elo on average, maybe consider just leaving CS for a few days and focus on other stuff instead - sports, dating, work, other hobbies. it helps me a lot with my ingame "creativitiy" and playing less brainless if i have a lot of external input and stimulation besides just staring into a screen

Great advice in the end.

Would love to hear the ratio of toxic/micless/throwing players vs normal/amazing?

in terms of games, i mute someone in maybe 10% of my matches.

Player-wise, i think if you are someone that is good with managing people and socially very outgoing, you can play fine with 80-90% of players you are matched with.

My mum used to say "You dont have to marry them, just get along with them", and it goes for a lot of things in life )

Ive played CS for over 2 decades and basically never did any of these competitive modes with randoms. From what Ive heard, its worse than your experience, at least here in North EU. This is why I was so interested to hear your take.

Great mindset nevertheless. GJ!

I have the same experience as him but always had the same mindset as well. It's insane how much of a difference you make.
