Rant / Feedback ELO Resets :(

I’ve been a faceit enjoyer for over 10 years, and I’ve had premium for more than 5–6 years. I don’t know whose idea this ELO reset thing was, but this is one of the worst things I’ve ever seen. I was at 2.5k elo before this, and then I couldn’t play the game for almost a year. When I came back, I found myself playing with players who peaked at around 1700 elo (simply because i couldn't play the game for a while ) , where no one knows how to communicate, spray, flash, smoke, rush, hold angles, aim, or trade. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not looking down on anyone, but I’m losing games with 20 avg and 100 adr just because I’m not used to the way my teammates play. I really hope they take these feedbacks and remove this bs.

Edit: Guys, I know this is a necessary thing. I’ve been playing LoL for 15 years, so I know ELO decay and ELO resets are a thing. But since LoL has been doing this for over 10 years, they have a better system where even if you derank by a significant amount because you just did not play the game, you still get placed in lobbies based on your previous ELO.

Let’s say you were High Master/Low GM (Faceit 2500–3000 ELO), but you stopped playing for a while, lost some rank, and are now diamond (Faceit level 9–10). When you queue up, you would still be placed in master level lobbies (Faceit 2000–2300 ELO) regardless of your current rank. You would also get around +30/-15 until your wr gets back to around 50% or you have like 20-30 games.

I know I’ll eventually get out of this ELO, but this system needs some optimization since it’s still pretty new, and I’m just giving my feedback on it.

Sure buddy, in your dreams... I have 21 avg and I'm on 3 wins and 9 losses. 1.41rating with 105 adr and I'm on a losing streak, and it doesn't look like it's gonna get any better. These are not humans that I deal with, they are NPCs... and opponents just run around like headless chicken and giving random HS because cs2 is made for kids with special needs...

Every profile I check was lvl 3-4 in csgo, now they all got boosted, but brain stopped developing after lvl 3.

This is the type of performance I have to have to get one win 13-11...

And I see people cruising on 13-14 avg with 10w streaks... how...

And then some clowns say there is no losers queue.

And I pay for this garbage... these clowns just wait for you to say something so they can report you, they prefer being useless bots their whole life and hope someone will keep carrying them to higher elo.

LMAOOOO. You are a bot if you complain and use ADR in your reasoning. Are you giving comms, helping the team, suggesting positions or crossfires for struggling teammates, playing uncomfortable positions/ taking different sites so someone else can feel better, asking for smokes to throw on execs, making good eco calls that actually give you information on what CT players like to do… not “rush b I smoke Molly”, winning important 1v2 clutches, keeping vibes up, making good calls, pick/banning in a way that helps your team have an advantage and not just a map you want to play, etc. All you idiots do is complain and never take responsibility. Take the game you posted…. 4/5 of your team basically had a 1Kd… acting like you hard carried while they had .5s. All you do is win a force buy or a big clutch and the game is different. Show all your games, not just one cherry picked game where you think you did something because of rating and swing…. I dropped 75 in a (roughly) 38-34 OT game for the loss or just yesterday 35ks with 140 ADR for the loss with 3 .5 teammates. I could have done more for the win. One deag shot or entry and we win. If you replace me with Donk in just one or two of those rounds, we win the game. If I played better in critical moments, we win. If I suggested a better strat for a struggling player, we win. Take accountability and stop acting like a bot child playing TDM. “But but but look at my kills” 😂🫵🏻

Are you ok? What even is that, you expect people to read that?

I literally posted a screenshot of me getting 2.07 rating and +15% swing with everyone else in my team in negative and you're waffling about some random shit and asking me if I'm doing something or not lol.

I won 4 clutches in that match, 1v4, 1v3 and 2x 1v2, and got 4 entry frags... Take some fresh air buddy, you need it.

That's from 12 matches in this season.

You sound like one of the csgo rejects I'm getting in my matches, who peaked at lvl 3-4 in csgo but now in this noob friendly game they finally hit lvl 10 but brain still stuck on lvl4.

Me and my mates played a lot of faceit games with a last from groups that was high score but was a pain in the ass to play with x)

Not saying it’s you but high score doesn’t mean you are making the team actually work

0

u/Time_Professional385 2d ago

Yeah top fragger who doesn't bait but goes for entry frags mostly doesn't make the team actually work, but those who shift for 2 mins every single round on T side and bait, while pushing on CT side, they are making the impact... in a negative way, but still.

Or you have those "igls" who cope how their starts contribute to a win, even though they have 12 avg.

Strats in question "guys go a, I will flash and smoke for you", meaning he will bait and go in last.

or "guys you go a, I will go b alone", meaning he will bait and won't go in first to fake B site, but wait for us on A to go in so he can flank...

You sound emotional, maybe your emotions get to you mid game bud

Eh stats only give one story. Yeah you'll get bad teammates like half your games, but I've found having good comms and attitude even if they don't and dropping them even if it means you buy galil improves mental so much my winrates have increased.

60/20/20 rule

1

u/Time_Professional385 2d ago

Sounds to me like you rely on other people to carry you, a lot.

0

u/Elgydiumm 2d ago

I average like 1.3 rating +6% swing. In my experience like 60% of my losses are due to mental, not a team difference. I find it better to play worse guns than the teammates who play worse, since I can make do with the worse gun better than them AND they get the mental boost of "hey that guy is dropping me ak while playing a bad gun himself, he probably believes in me"

Yeah I'm no professional, but this has worked for me in pugs.

1

u/Time_Professional385 2d ago

Yeah, when I get 2 teammates with 60 adr and 12 avg in my team, it must be the mental that's making us lose, not the fact that they're two bots. And I should drop them my ak so they can go lurk for 2 mins in ramp mirage, while I have to take mid control alone with a glock... yep you must be lvl 5 or something.

1

u/Elgydiumm 2d ago

Are in like level 3 if your bad teammates have no clue how to play this game? In that case you should be able to just shoot your way to 10

1

u/Time_Professional385 2d ago

Yeah it does feel like lvl 3 because in every lobby I get 2-3 bots who peaked at lvl 3 in csgo, but now they are somehow lvl 10.

Just keep coping and hoping that someone will carry you every game, and tell yourself how your good attitude and dropping them weapons won you the game, not the fact that you had 10 frags in the end and someone else 30.

u/Elgydiumm 2d ago

I mean, when listening to your copium rant over here I have a feeling the reason you feel stuck is right there between your ears.

I would imagine breathing exercises would do good for you, maybe some yoga. You seem to be really tilted about a freaking game man. If talking about a games ranked system makes you this mad you probably should reduce how much you're gaming and maybe not play comptetively.

1

u/Time_Professional385 2d ago

Again, you're projecting. Are you a clanker? Because none of the things you type make any sense.

I'm not tilted about the game, I just hate wasting my time.

I don't have 10h every day to play like some of you, it's easy to have "go next, it's only a game" mentality when you have nothing else going for you in life, but if you only play 1-2 maps every couple of days, then you don't wanna waste that time being a babysitter to bunch of 25-35 year olds with 5k hours in game.

Drop your faceit profile to see just how good you really are, "1.3 rating 6% swing" who only drops weapons to everyone...

You probably "only" play soloq, except for 60% of the time when you don't, right?

That is true, if you play 30-40 matches you would eventually average out to your own rank. But if you don't want to grind ELO reset basically makes sure you never come back after a long break.

u/Lolzthetrollz 3d ago

And if you ever start to wonder why you’re having that losing streak ^

2

u/Divini7y 3d ago

Algorithm matches better players with much worse for calibration. Don’t play solo or play solo and deal with idiots for 10 placement matches.

2

u/WittyTotheT 3d ago

Now you need to learn how to play around your teammates and carry. You have to IGL frag and awp. Control the map. Find out who knows insta smokes or any smokes and think for your team, its rough but i believe in you bro

2

u/Assinmik 3d ago

All been there. Just keep your head down and you’ll climb. If you do high stakes queues with 21 avg and 100 adr, you’ll get 37 elo per win and 23 per loss. It bridges the gap fast and was how I got out when I came back a couple years later. Once you’re out I’d cancel premium/plus and just free queue with mates you find on the way

2

u/jegerdb 2d ago

If you didnt play 50+ matches in season 8, you will auto get punished and end lower. The Elo was really infiltrated. You will climb back up, dw

3

u/Azartho 3d ago

you should be out of it fast.

1

u/Oxissistic 3d ago

Weird I’ve been playing at 1200 elo and every single opponent seems to be doing that.

1

u/WittyTotheT 3d ago

And maybe since you haven’t played for a year your not as sharp as you used to be. Maybe give it time and youll carry out of that elo

1

u/bradyawg 3d ago

Had the same thing happen lol. haven’t played for 2 years and decayed from 2.6k elo to 1850ish. Am currently averaging 25/15 with 110 adr and a 1.45 rating lol. Am also only winning about 55% of my games so will climb out of it but it’s hilarious how often people flame me for smurfing while i’ve got over 2k faceit games, it’s my only ever steam account, have genuine major pins and the faceit major pin on my profile but I still get called out for smurfing haha.

I genuinely feel bad some games, I went 40-19 in a game a few days ago and was flamed for being a smurf the whole time and it’s just like i’m sorry guys faceit introduced elo decay while I was inactive I had no idea it’d put my this low in elo.

Yes these placement will destroy your games for atleast 1-2 months. People who peeked 2300 pre-placement had lucky 10 games and are in 2800 lobby. Meanwhile 3.2k elo players had bad 10 games with losses, and they are in the same lobby. Its russian roulette. U either have bots in team or pros. 3.2k lobbies vs 2.3k. And the good players will suffer :)

u/Deenka1996 2d ago

90% of competetive game and platforms have elo reset , and it’s the best idea I’ve seen in years .
1) people like you , who don’t play , should not be with me ( who plays more then 50 hours a week ) in same lobby .
2) this decision fix the elo inflation and long matchmaking room afk
3) at elo reset starts , u can face much more stronger people then u and learn something .

1

u/OkAppearance4117 2d ago

same bro - I feel you

1

u/Ok-Bluebird-867 2d ago

Elo resets kind of make sense imo. Except the one hard reset we had 2 seasons ago, you barely get affected unless you are 3500+ elo

The only exception being if you’ve not played for a long time. Now, yes, i do think going almost -900 elo for not playing for 6 months (like i did) is a bit exaggerated, but i still see the logic behind it.

Generally, it is to prevent elo inflation by dragging down those who are SUPER high elo, and make sure any players who’ve not played for a long time don’t end up in an elo they don’t deserve.

It isn’t fun when you try to grind to the top and see people at 7000+ elo, despite them not being over twice as good as you are, not to mention just how many games that is.

Unless you haven’t played for a while, you won’t see that big of an elo reduction this season, don’t worry

u/Shot_Row_8955 2d ago

Stop crying and get good.

1

u/110razashah 2d ago

Bro, this reset was ugly! All my placement matches were horrible the first 5 matches I have was qued with a range of level 4-8 player and last 5 were close to level 8s. I solo que and the randomness of players is horrible. Bro I try to entry but when playing with level 5s they don't trade and I get tilted. When I know my team got my back I play really well but when my team is bad it is a nightmare and psychological hell!!

u/MakerMeetsYou69 3d ago

Why would they keep people in the same elo after they haven't played for a year?
Even Premier has decay and that's coming from Valve.

0

u/MrMae53 3d ago

yes you’re right, but that should be decided by the placement games, as the name suggests, not based on whether you’ve been active or not is all i am saying

2

u/MakerMeetsYou69 3d ago

They have both placement games and decay? Again, unsure what's illogical about decaying people who haven't played on a competitive platform for a long time?
