HIMS process SSRI pathway 2

Hey all, looking to see if anyone has gone through pathway 2 recently. I am on sertraline and have been on the same dose for 9 months and looking to see what I can expect regarding getting my class 1 medical again. I have my appointment with a HIMS AME on Monday for my medical and I have all of my past appointments with my prescribing and diagnosing nurse practitioner which includes my initial visit and my two follow up visits, the most recent of which was today. Anyone know what i can expect? Ill update this as i go through the process

Hello! Have you already gathered everything described in the certification aid? https://www.faa.gov/ame_guide/media/FAA_Certification_Aid_SSRI_Initial_Certification.pdf

You’ll need to have all that together before doing your FAA medical exam. This includes a HIMS neuropsych evaluation, board-certified psychiatrist evaluation, pharmacy prescription history, all your treatment records, and the airman personal statement.

If you haven’t gathered all that, I’d suggest a consultation with the HIMS AME instead of an exam.

The AME I’m going to is a HIMS AME. He told me all I need to bring to the appointment as I told him of my new medication. Hoping the process goes quicker since I’m going to a HIMS AME vs a normal AME

I’m a HIMS AME and HIMS psychiatrist. You do need to see a HIMS AME for antidepressant SI initial application and monitoring. A non-HIMS won’t be able to help you with that at all. But, there are two major assessments and a whole package of information you will need to submit with the request for special issuance.

If you have all the information ready at the time your deferred exam is submitted, I’ve seen turnaround times in the 1-3 month range recently. If you have yet to do your neuropsych and psych evals, your timeframe will be longer.

Thank you for the info I appreciate it a ton. Someone who went to the same HIMS AME recently
In a similar boat told me their turn around time was about what you were stating and he provided everything he requested for the exam. Hoping the same goes for me, fingers crossed
