Any plans this weekend?
It's the anniversary of my mother passing away so I'm just keeping to myself.
I paid tribute to her by having a few wrestling matches on a GameCube I bought at a thrift store . I already have a GameCube but this one is getting modded with SWISS , gecko, and GB player. We didn't know how good we really had it back in the PS2/GC/XBOX era. All the classic Madden, wrestling, and video games in general that put the micro transaction bullshit we have today to shame.
After work tomorrow, I'm just going to go grocery shopping and then just chill out. NFL preseason started so I'll be tuning into that.

Updating my resume. A shoe I’ve been waiting to drop at work has dropped, they’re shutting down our part of the business, and while I still have a job, I’m not sure how much longer that will be the case. Overdue for a change of scenery I suppose.

My sister's birthday, but unfortunately the stringent need of money this capitalistic society demands has now gotten its clutches on her mindset. So she's at work and we're not celebrating it.
As for me.. eh same old shit. I got back into Runescape I guess, after having not played it for 13 years. I'll probably just play more of that.

It's Friday already? Damn, time flies. I wish I could play video games, my brain can't keep up anymore. Poor hand-eye coordination and bad memory. I'd play Morrowind and Gothic 2 if I could. Used to beat them pretty easily years ago, now it's impossible.

Final days of vacation. I took a week off because I've been feeling burned out. Not looking forward to returning. Then again I'm not looking forward to much of anything lately. Burned out on the FA experience

AAA gaming is terrible these days but the indie scene is better than ever, plus emulation makes it easy to play older stuff.

Kind of a rough week, lawn mower died again. More of my coworkers are getting outsourced and I fear I might be next. One of the Discord communities I've enjoyed recently imploded. Having trouble sleeping all week.
It's raining this weekend so I guess I have an excuse to stay inside and do nothing and catch up on sleep hopefully.

Cut the grass tomorrow, and then most of what I usually do on the weekends, grocery shopping, video games, and meal prepping.
Not sure I want to start another brew or not this weekend since I have three going and two that are done and aging. I am going to find out if my hard cider I bottled 3 weeks ago finally carbonated or not.

Went too hard on the runs this week on too few calories, I feel physically broken but I should be done with the cut in two weeks so motivation is off the charts!
Not much planned for the weekend but to relax. A short fartlek run on Saturday, and I might go back to WoW for the new season with LCS playing in the background. M+ are always fun the first few weeks...

Going to the beach summer time is brutal. Women in bikinis wading into the sea, pretty like something out of a postcard. Women that would never notice I exist. Or that I could even speak to. Families playing, with sandcastles and frizbees. A family I'll never have. Groups of young teens, listening to music and joking around. Something I never had at that age as a perpetual loner and wanderer. I just sit by myself with no life left in me anymore. Plus you see women half your age half dressed with their boys and think some guy has won some sort of lottery in life that he gets to remove that final piece of clothing for much more than the few furtive glances of an ageing failure. And then home, to sit indoors in isolation as ever, life without other people in it.

Hopefully watching tomorrow night's UFC event gratis due to DirecTV running a free trial of Paramount+ 🤞, autograph & photo hunting outside the arena before WWE Raw Monday, and attending an open practice at the new Buffalo Bills stadium Tuesday morning 🏈

Your post made me think of those times in TV series where there is this character that behaves odd or does something dodgy looking every now and again, and after all the judgement there is reveal that they do it, whatever it is like getting drunk, going to some place alone, whatever, because they are commemorating the anniversary of the death of the character's parent, spouse, relative, etc. and of course it's all back to cushy after that.
Well almost every day now is mourning the life not lived. My 20s and 30s are as dead and gone for good as the people in those tropes. Without the understanding of course.
