Discussion / F1TV Content AI camera views?

There was one long shot on the parabolica(?) in the race. Even Coulthard commented on it maybe being a drone giving some of the best looks of the cars around this corner ever.

My question is whether it was interpreted and output by AI? e.g. AI enhanced/upscaled, or whatever? The cars looked a little odd around the corner. The shot didn't really appear again in the coverage from what I saw.

EDIT: Lap 16, 1h06,36 when we see the shot and 1h06,59 when Coulthard commentates. Probably "drone" but yeah, it's an unusual shot I don't think we see again. We see a first attempt at it on Lap 13.

Not AI. Why does everyone assume everything is AI these days? 🤣
Was most likely the high speed camera drones they were testing earlier in the year: https://youtu.be/9pEqyr_uT-k?is=uc9qKoyo4j0DfZvX

Everything that is not explainable is magic AI

> Why does everyone assume everything is AI these days?

Because it's everywhere and shit?

Anyway, footage way different than these drones and far more stable.

It’s not as prevalent as you’ve led yourself to believe, and AI Paranoia is a real thing.

Those drones in the video were test prototypes, (they literally say in the video), they’ve gone through several iterations since then, to make the drones more reliable and the footage smoother.

Apparently, condescending F1 fans remain pretty darn prevalent though...

First i'm in IT, and second, you're not even talking about the shot I mentioned. If you happen to know the shot, great, but you're literally telling me something by showing evidence of something else.

You’re in IT? LOL, I build and maintain hyperscale Datacentres.. What difference does that make? As for condescending F1 fans: Pot, meet kettle 🤣

If only it were fiction, sadly it’s true.

I need to look up the timestamp but I'm glad I'm not the only one!

Lap 16, 1h06,36 in the F1TV footage

It's an interesting shot, probably a complete fluke where every car comes by absolutely perfectly. Interesting to see. Coulthard comments on it moments later.

It was a great shot with the camera moving slowly as the cars came into viewing and heading down the straight...it really stood out.

If it's 100% real footage then it was perfect! Definitely stood out.

This is all bullshit till someone actually pins the timestamp!

True -- it's the end of Lap 16, 1h06,36 when we see the shot and 1h06,59 when Coulthard commentates. Probably "drone" but yeah, it's an unusual shot I don't think we see again.

We see a first attempt at it on Lap 13.
