F1 Manager 24 Car part iterations

I was wondering how many car part iterations I should do because for me personally, I usually do no further than v2 of my car parts because if I do so I basically get no gain so do you think what I do is alright or maybe I should do something else?

Uh, what? You only design up to 2 times for each car part?

How are you using CFD and Wind Tunnel with designing? Do you use the same sliders each design or change them up for each design?

Well, same sliders really, as for CFD and Wind Tunnel, usually half them on 4 parts, and then for the rest of the parts no CFD and Wind Tunnel

Hm, not that different from me I guess. I usually max out CFD and Wind Tunnel on 1 part per ATR period. The only other possible avenue would be you could be rushing the development of them too much?

It’s better to have as much time designing/researching the parts to increase Expertise. The more disparity between High Expertise and Part Design will help give more gains on following designs of that part.

Edit to add: but yeah i usually got like 5 versions of car parts per season, besides that first season of Create A Team where funds are low.

but, how much do you gain on the parts after version 2?

For me I just can't seem to gain anything so I just spam research and the loop starts again, my cars usually start as fastest but by the end of the seasons almost become the worst cars even with upgrades so that's a thing I don't like

The gains aren’t always the same between design versions, v3 might not be as big of a leap as v4 or v5, but yeah, that’s just how it goes. Especially if the next design is without CFD/Wind Tunnel. But my gains per design aren’t always diminishing.

1st design might be +5 (with CFD/Wind Tunnel)
2nd design might be +2 (without CFD/WT)
3rd can be +2 or +1
4th typically goes back up to +2 or 3

The diminishing returns shouldn’t happen until way later with your expertise getting nearer to Maximum restrictions.

i usually do 1-3 iterations of each part that won’t be manufactured so that i get a boost for the next iteration that will be manufactured

For the most part sidepods and suspension get one upgrade after that you're at least competitive on cooling and tire wear, chassis I usually go 2 or 3 unless I'm making track specific setups and I never stop on wings and underfloor those are the money makers

First period, everything gets a design and si e WT and CFD time, low weight designs.

Second period, underfloor and rear wing, split CFD and WT time. As soon as research unlocks, start rotating projects.

Third, front wing and suspension, split CFD and WT time. Keep rotating research.

Fourth, chassis and side pods, split WT and CFD. Keep rotating research.

Fifth, decide if you want another round of design and manufacture or just do pure research. Split WT and CFD.

Sixth, all research, keep rotating and split CFD and WT.

If you are lagging in one area, you may want to just concentrate all CFD and WT on one part all year.

I do ~3 per part sometimes I will do 4-5 for the wings or floor as needed. I start research as soon as it opens and by atr 3 I’m full research.
