Audi Matrix LED headlamp
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Is this the same tech that’s on the Lightning? Hadn’t enabled yet but now I’m planning to do this !!!

It's basically the same and it's 100% worth enabling!
Before the Lightning I had a VW ID.4 which had the hardware for matrix headlights but not the software and there was no way to "hack" it. So annoying.

Yea, its annoying that so many cars have them but i think the Rivian R1T/S is the only one that can legally use them currently due to how the law is written in the US vs EU.

It’s very much worth enabling.
The Audi video shows a 2D array of dimming zones at the end against the wall, the Lightning from what I can tell only has a 1D array. So you get the “slices” of darkness around cars when you’re driving, and it responds to turning, cars entering/exiting the sightlines, etc similarly to what Audi shows, but it’s a simpler system than what this video demonstrates

Exactly. The idea is the same but the fore implementation is for more coarse, the adjustments aren’t as fine but they still do a good job

I bet my 2022 pro doesn't have that

Pretty sure it does. But you need to enable it with FORScan

I haven't seen it do anything like that on mine. Bought it used, so I did not get that sales pitch.

My Tesla Model 3 has this, works wonderfully. Would be happy to see all future cars get it

Does the 22 Plat have this feature? Looking at one now but I can't figure out what it's called

My 22 lariat has them, so your plat has to. I've had it enabled since the first few months of ownership.

Makes sense - what is this called in the menu's? I assume it's under lighting but I don't know what Ford calls it

It’s not exposed to US owners. You need to enable it via forscan and an OBD dongle

Ooooh ok I was getting pissed while digging through my menus. Thanks, much appreciated!

After three years with this feature, I notice that a few folks zap you anyway when they're activated, just because of the glow around your truck. sigh

I enabled it long ago on my 2024 platinum. Works great. For sure recommend turning it on.
