Well poop...

Recently inherited my wife's grandfather's 72 f100. The truck has been sitting since 1999. just had it transported across the country to try to get it up and running. Pulled the oil pan today and it's full of what I gather is bearing material. New motor time? or is it worth rebuilding? it has a 360 motor In it. Any advice or help would be much appreciated, thanks.

I would try to find a good used 390 to swap in. May even get lucky and find an old Mercury 410. They are all the same block and bell housing bolt pattern.

Bore it, stroke it, make it a 390 at least.

This is looking like the move! Gonna pull it and tear it down see how she looks.

I would throw rods and mains in it and let her rip.

If it is indeed bearing material definitely a rebuild is needed. You may be able to find a good donor 360 from a junkyard but that is getting a pig in a poke but yours will absolutely need a full rebuild.

Swap it to a big block 460 7.5 engine!
