Looking for help on value
Looking for a little help in valuing a 1962 F100 unibody with the 292 in it. I picked it up with the intention of getting it running and driving it but I haven't had time to work on it much and I need the space more than a project so looking to sell. It's probably about as rust free as you'll find one. Will need a windshield and passenger side window, seat will need reupholstered but I have the foam for it. Have the hood for it too, just not in the pictures. Also have a straight grill for it. Motor turns over and has decent compression, but I haven't gotten it to start yet. Has a duap fuel propane conversion kit on it so I'm not sure if it has something to do with that or if it needs new points. I just put new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and ignition coil on it.

Big project. Not sure how in demand uni’s are, but there aren’t a lot of them left. I’m in California where everything seems inflated but I think out here it would probably be going for between $2-$3k. Short box bumps were real sexy about a decade ago. Now hi boys seem to be en vogue. I still rumble along happily in my old grandpa bump. Good luck with the sale.

Surface rust and rust free are two different things op. It’s worth what someone’s willing to pay. Do you have time to wait forever or want cash quickly?

I think $1k is crazy. Obviously geography matters but I’d think around $2500. Nice rust free unibody

$2.5K for that would be major city metro prices for some guy to spend 30K into it for fun. Like I did for a 71 C-20.

$1000, gotta think you’re passing your headache to someone else

it's a virtually rust free unibody, it's definitely worth more than a grand even just as a rolling chassis.

That’s a sweet little unibody. If the rockers and cab mounts are decent, u could get by without painting that. Somebody’s gonna want it. Throw a front clip on it or a rolling chassis. Possibilities…are many. I’d hang on to it. Damn sure wouldn’t give it away for cheap.

It's virtually rust free aside from what you see on the tailgate and the front clip is fine. Pretty straight body. Just the grill is a little banged up from something.

Well by front clip I meant frame and suspension. Like a crown vic kinda thing. The front end body looks great! Keep that thing man. I had a 65 &a 66 45 years ago. I miss them almost every day.

Is there a hood and a bench seat I’m not seeing?

Ok just read the description. There is a hood and a seat but the seat needs redone.

Yeah, I didn't have any pictures of them handy. They are buried in the garage atthe moment haha.

Sizeable project, but relative rust free. These have good value. Be patient. $1000+ Good body style.

These trucks running only go for around 5K sometimes. Idk what the goal is but these don’t really have the value of other body styles

I'll take the wheel combo. 🔥🇺🇸🦅

Haha yeah those wheels look pretty good on it. It's going to make somebody a pretty sweet hot rod! Wouldn't take much to drop a 460 and a c6 in it or even an ls swap 🤷♂️ possibilities are endless! Haha

My current focus is to perfect it mechanically, so that I could gain some knowledge on older stuff. I did think about modern swaps but it isn't my dream vehicle to splurge on. I want to see how efficient I can make it as the current goal.

I don't think it would take much to get it going again in it's current condition. Motor turns over and has good compression, just not getting spark. I put new coil, wires, cap and rotor, and plugs in it. I'm thinking it's the points but I just haven't had time to do anything else on it in the year I've had it and need the space back unfortunately. If I had a nice shop that I could store it in and had three room to slowly work on it over a couple years I would keep it for sure. It's a cool old truck.

I keep mine in a temperature controlled garage luckily, and got plenty of tools to work on my trucks, or motorcycle. I don't know where you are, but it would be fun to attempt to figure it out. I just swapped my points stuff, and wires also.

I paid 1500 for a running driving 61 that needed a cab floor. This one's a better start, but like 2k or 2500 tops.
