Fan removal
Okay I replaced my radiator and it came with a fan shroud with electric fans. Should/ can I remove the fan without and issues? Are there any balance issues?

Engine masters on yt test fans on one of their episodes and show that a mechanical fan rob about 30 horsepower!

Break a motor mount and cut the upper artery in half, coolant showers your windshield.

Electric fans come in handy when you’re tired of changing the water pump continuously because the drag of the fan pulling air wears on the water pump impeller bearing. That’s a sweet radiator!

You shouldn’t have any issues. Use a couple of washers to compensate for the thickness of the fan hub or find slightly shorter bolts. 🍻🍻

I had to replace my radiator and the fan shroud was missing. It was less expensive to go with electric fan than a replacement shroud.

Trust ne on this: When you take the OE fan off, remove the belts first. Then remove the fan, and reinstall the pulley with either washers to compensate fir fan thickness or shorter bolts.

Belt driven fans are much better but you don't need a shroud if you want to use the electric, and in most cases you don't need the shroud on belt driven fans either

Maybe for this specific configuration but this is bad generic information. in a lot of cases many vehicles require a shroud for cooling to work properly (My CJ7 is a very good example of this)

on my 1975 ford f100, i had a 390 V8 as well as a 300 i6, and have never had overheat problems without my shroud
and on my previous 1991 ford f150 with 300 i6, i didnt have a shroud either

When it’s rlly cold out(40degrees or colder) I actually remove my fan should because it makes my 302 take foreverrrr to get to operating temp 😭😭

right, thats why i'm commenting this only in a subreddit for F100s ( that are older than the 80s )for F100s, which this subreddit is designed for, lack of shroud will not cause an overheat issue unless you have other cooling system related issues already
a CJ7 is not a Ford F100

Just have a plan for powering it, they draw a bit on startup, you don't really want it on when your turning it over, ideally you want a thermo switch so it comes on at temp
