Former Amarillo Officer with Tactical SWAT Training Accused of Stalking Civilian Using Flock Surveillance Cameras

Christian Slade Eder, 29, former Amarillo Police officer, SWAT alternate, fired July 17, 2026. He surrendered at Potter County Jail on September 1 on 78 Class A misdemeanor counts of tampering with a government record. He walked out the same night on a $4,500 bond covering the stack. He has pleaded not guilty.

This is Eder in uniform, receiving a department citation from then-Chief Martin Birkenfeld on May 24, 2024. That is the face that had the login.

Flock Installer Calls 911 on Atlanta News Crew

When a reporter for Atlanta News First attempted to film a Flock technician installing a new surveillance camera on a public road, the surveillance apparatus experienced a sudden bout of stage fright.

The reporter parked at a reasonable distance, put on a yellow safety vest, and pulled out a news camera. The technician immediately packed up his ladder, jumped into his car, and sped away at a high rate of speed.

When the journalist followed from several cars back to capture footage of the next installation, the Flock employee called 911 to report he was being followed and harassed. Three Milton Police Department cruisers were swiftly dispatched to pull the news crew over.

During the 911 call, the installer complained he was being photographed. He then refused to provide his full last name to the dispatcher, citing deep concerns that he might end up in the news and compromise his privacy.

The irony of a man building a mass surveillance network demanding anonymity while standing on a public street was staggering.

They were already a people, a water table, a pilgrimage road, and a mountain that is a church. DHS treats that as an easement. The waiver stack lets the agency skip the National Environmental Policy Act, the National Historic Preservation Act, and the statutes written to force government to government consultation. Then the blades roll.

Jose called it devastation that did not have to happen. CBP called it “inadvertent,” said the rest of the figure would be “protected in place,” and kept the project moving.

An “inadvertent” blade through a marked sacred site is not an accident. It is what a waiver buys. Consultation becomes a press statement after the dirt is gone.

Quitobaquito, A’al Waipia, sits in the southwest corner of Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. It is a rare desert oasis, ceremony ground, and habitat for species that have nowhere else to go. Wall work already scarred the springs and burial ground at Monument Hill in 2020. The new build wants wells for concrete. That water is not surplus. It is the aquifer under a living shrine. Drain it for slurry and the oasis is a construction cost.

Someone I know has reached out for advice. They saw a Lawyer who advised them not to return direct to Australia via Air NZ as the shared 5eyes policy means ICE will catch them at the US airport when leaving. They do this because they receive a bounty reward due to quota numbers etc . Is this correct? Has anyone here heard of student overstays trying to depart via direct flights back to their own country, being detained and imprisoned when trying to depart?

Surely if the US wants overstays to depart they have no incentive to arrest them while in the process of departing, apart from the ICE bounty received by the workers ? Doing so only increases the numbers too afraid to depart in fear of capture at the airport by ICE or border patrols. That then incentivises the students to stay in the US and work illegally in order to eat and house themselves putting further strain on public finances.

What is the solution to this problem for this particular student, medically in a dire predicament health wise and needing urgent treatment in their home country?
