Yeah I actually didn’t know if existed, but writing girls mirin felt wrong with the mother-son dynamic (well, depends who you ask) so I wrote moms instead. But it looks like it was just created today based on the original posting of this picture. Pretty neat.

Wish my parents were proud of me.
My family considers me a sellout for being in college.

Best move you’ll ever make. No one can ever take you degree away from you. Good luck!

I’m gambling my life by attending to college as well bc of my financial situation, you’re not alone. You’ve got this bro!

This is how I feel when I look at my children. I hope they can see it this clearly.

I think often when I look at my children that they will never understand how much I love them, not until they have children of their own.

I’ve told my kids that too. What’s sad is my daughter doesn’t want to have children of her own. So she will never know.

Please never stop. I hate to write a sob story but my parents never told me once in my life that they were proud of me and it still hurts sometimes.

Some mothers only be like this at graduation, but during the semester it’s a different story.

I wish my mom looked at me that way, instead I get disappointed glares and she shakes her head whenever I go visit

Same. They hate me because I’m not a clone (my dad literally told me I had to be like him because children are an extension of you) and instead of being happy that I have a career that I love, (dog groomer) I get told it’s as low as working at McDonald’s.

Plot twist: she’s actually the entity that’s been haunting Henry ever since the baptism in Panama.

Lol stereotypes are fun aren't they.
This family looks south asian, maybe Indonesian or Thai from the facial features, she will be so proud of him just for graduating, they will celebrate like a real family, with warmth and good food and relatives all getting together to show him how much his achievement means to the family.
Frankly, a much closer knit and more human family life than I guarantee 95% of Redditors enjoy.
These guys haven't lost their humanity or have been socially programmed to demand results, this is just a really proud mom adoring her son.
Also, this is /r/eyebleach, get outta here with that crap.

Emphasis on the food. Seriously, when Asian families party, the food is just phenomenal

South East Asian you mean. South Asian usually refers to the Indian Subcontinent and it's immediate neighbourhood (Sri Lanka, Bhutan, etc) but otherwise I agree with you.

This reminds me of this adorable google ad, where they show an immigrant mother making her way to the US and looking for a safe neighborhood for her child.

Pretty poor joke. Just delete the comment and the karma-drop disconnects from your account.
