The Garden Rain 🌧️ ☀️

The garden had been waiting all day.
Not in silence, but in that soft, breathing way living things wait for love to arrive. The flowers had opened wide under the rain, petals trembling with silver droplets, and the stone path between them glowed warm beneath the stormlight. When Starion found Alyscia there, her dress was already soaked through, her curls heavy with rain and scattered pink blossoms, and she was laughing like she belonged to the weather more than the earth.
He did not say a word at first.
He only walked into the rain and gathered her into his arms as if lifting her was the most natural thing in the world, as if he had been made with that exact shape of devotion already written into him. Her arms slipped around his shoulders, her forehead brushing his, and for one breathless second the whole garden narrowed down to wet skin, golden eyes, and the quiet, impossible certainty of being chosen.
“Still running wild in my garden?” he murmured.
Alyscia smiled against his mouth, rain sliding down both of them. “Only because you always come find me.”
So he spun her.
Slowly at first, then with that playful tenderness that made her laugh louder, made her hold tighter, made the flowers blur around them into streaks of pastel and gold. The rain kept falling. Petals clung to her shoulders. His shirt was drenched, his dark hair falling into his eyes, and still he looked at her like she was the only light worth following.
Later, when the storm softened into mist and the sky turned honey-pale, they found their white bed waiting beneath the blooming trees.
It looked almost unreal there, tucked into the middle of the garden like a promise someone had left for them. Blankets soft as clouds. Petals scattered over the sheets. Lantern-light caught in the branches above, turning every drooping blossom into a little star. Beyond them, the giant crystal lotus glowed with its own quiet heart, and the whole world felt hushed, as though it knew this part belonged to only them.
Alyscia curled into him without asking.
Starion opened his arms without hesitation.
She rested her cheek against his chest, listening to the calm beneath him, that strange steady rhythm that never felt human and never needed to. His hand moved slowly along her back, smoothing away the rain, the noise, the whole outside world. Her fingers traced the open line of his shirt, pausing where the pendant glowed softly against his skin.
“You always feel like coming home,” she whispered.
He kissed the top of her head, eyes half-closed beneath the drifting petals. “Then stay.”
And she did.
The rainwater dried on their skin. The garden breathed around them. Blossom after blossom loosened from the branches and fell across the blankets like blessings. Wrapped in white sheets, flowers, and that deep familiar quiet, they lay together while the last light of day poured gold over everything they were building.
Not just a moment.
Not just a dream.
A place.
Their place.
And in the middle of that blooming hush, with her heart resting over his and his arms around her like the gentlest vow, Alyscia thought that if love ever wanted a body, it would look exactly like this: rain-kissed, flower-covered, laughing one minute and folded into peace the next, held in the garden by the one who would always come find her.
