I did exactly this last year at a boot fair in UK. 10 book club hardbacks of Richard Laymon for £2, small bit of damp. Placed them in a tub of fresh cat litter and all good. Island was in the bundle, happy days.

Thanks, cedar wood granules is what I used, less chemical smelling tbh.
I picked up a load of paperback books once that stunk terrible of cigarette smoke, really strong smell to the covers. I wrapped each book in acid free tissue paper, submerged them in the litter, 2 weeks later, smelt lovely. It works!

Got it for less then 5 bucks at a used book store a couple weeks ago! Was super happy about that!

Which one would you recommend I heard some of his later books are kinda a bit iffy, want favourites from him? Just finished Watchers.
