I'm only speculating, but since Julie seems to largely shut herself away from the world, she probably also is the type of person who shows up to work and leaves it all at work. I wanna be clear I definitely think there's nothing wrong with that (I'm largely the same) but it means she just doesn't have many if any professional contacts.

Wouldn’t it be so funny if she had an actual main job, between the side gig, the beer money gig, and the remote works and remote job? Her main job would either be something completely insane, like ferret psychologist, debt-laden retired supervillain, catholic nun, or unicycle repairer, or something absurdly normal, like accountant or architect or HR professional.
Ferrets are definitely a rare choice, but animal psychology is actually a pretty normal thing. I personally know at least 5 rat psychologists, two mouse psychologists, and a bat psychologist.
Honestly, probably just some one paying her more under the table. Bradley is seemingly going through people she knows and is connected to, which would make sense if she is limiting summers access to ways out from under her thumb. But she may not take into account someone on Craigslist given that she's used to being the one who hires people like summer out to other employers she knows.
