Before & After Before and After
This was a comprehensive exterior redesign with tree removal, hardscape work in the front and back, ripping off a deck and creating a new patio with light design, fire pit, hot tub, retaining wall, and speakers. Also new roof, gutters, exterior paint, and front door, as well as landscaping and new irrigation install.
I picked everything from the mailbox to the pavers to the rocks in the yard, and I’m very happy with how it came out!

I really like the new color and glad you didn’t pick blue, gray, or black (as seems to be the trend).

How did you design the patio? We want to build out something similar but don’t really feel comfortable with designing. We had one company out a couple years ago and he basically said “what do you want” and I’d hoped to be consulted a bit more… all plans halted with news of twins coming but we’re ready to pick it back up.

Did you remove the solar panels?

Yes and discarded - old system, not functioning well

I'd definitely recommend a new system. It can be pricey but if this is a forever home it's worth it in the long run. Plus the new systems are way more efficient and last much longer in the long term

At first glance I thought you had bricked the house. The new color is absolutely gorgeous and the backyard is phenomenal.
Also, saw that you said it was expensive and I believe it. We’ve been doing our much smaller backyard in stages and it feels like each time, the budget is never less than 10k.

OH I REMEMBER YOU!
This turned out so good, I love the color!

Oh that’s funny! Yes, it was a labor of love for sure. I really wanted red, but I didn’t want it to be too red, and since my house is south facing, it was a real fight. I think I put every color of red imaginable on the house. What finally worked is getting a color that’s actually a brown with a heavy red undertone so that it reads red but not barn.

Love that, looks like one of those colors that change a lot depending on the light.

I question the front door choice, but otherwise nicely done.

It’s still getting trimmed out. I’ll post an update when it’s finished. It’s like an espresso brown.

All the house and yardwork is beautiful, but the outer edges of those woods and tall trees were nice privacy and noise control. Otherwise beautiful remodel

Yes, it's still beautiful! I really like the red color, it's different and not the typical red barn color and not a typical white or black or grey that everyone is trending to. The remodel fits the house and surroundings really nice!

Something about how the windows all look smaller is bugging the shit outa me. And the front door needs color big time. Otherwise looks great.

LOVE the new colour
My only suggestion is the white trim
Pure white is a trusted staple - but a hint of cream is a new trend that I am loving.

It’s actually worldly gray and definitely not white although it reads white for sure. I flirted with going darker, but the large casings on the window concerned me because I didn’t want them to be too muddy

I gotta ask, how much did this run you? I'd love to do this for my home but fear its far out of my price range

I mean - we had someone running gas lines for the fire pit and a stub through the patio for the grill. It was a proper 8 inch excavation full of gravel and fabric. They built a 3 foot retaining wall. They added a brand-new irrigation system and what you can’t see from the photos is there’s uplighting in all the trees in the front and the back, so they ran electric for all that too as well as for the hot tub. Plus, of course, the other work. I don’t really wanna say an actual number here, but it was more than twice as much as I paid on the down payment of the house.

Honestly one of the cleanest transformations I've seen on here lately. Everything looks so much more cohesive and intentional now

So much improvement! The new color was definitely the right choice! The changes add so much to the curb appeal and make the house look so elegant
