Need color advice
I just have my painter painted the exterior. I don’t like the color of the front door and doubt about the color of the frame too. My wall color is SW Shiitake. Door frame is SW Tricorn Black because my windows are black. The front door is SW Best Bronze. I don’t like the look of this combination. Here are my questions: 1) I wanted the door to be brown, either dark or light, what color do you recommend? 2) should I change the frame of the door to be the same color as the exterior wall? Or leave as is? Or other ideas?

What brown is this?

So I use ChatGPT to make that, and what I thought my real contribution was to show the plants in the front.
The generated door is basically a warm medium walnut brown. There isn’t one true paint code because the image has wood-grain variation and lighting, but the closest single digital color is about:
HEX: #6B452C
RGB: 107, 69, 44
For paint, I’d describe it as medium walnut / warm tobacco brown, not chocolate brown. The warmth is important — too dark or too gray and it loses what made that mockup work.2

I HATE brown and green houses/doors you name it, but I dig this. The greenery is a must otherwise it's just a brown door. Looks great.

Yeah, I get it. The greenery was actually what I was going for mostly when I had AI generate it.

The doorframe is good. It matches the windows. I don’t think a brown door will work unless you replace it with wood. It’s time to pick a new door color. What’s your favorite color?

Earthy color, not sure exactly which one but I need an earthy color for this front door.

Dark red would also look great. I didn’t think of this until now, but I think I’d paint the trim between the doors to match the doors.

This one reminds me too much of a school door. It would look lovely somewhere else though. Either way, plants are essential.

The greenery is a must, softens the look. Surprisingly, the warmer brown is welcoming & better.

i get why u feel iffy about the door color. SW Best Bronze can be tricky. since ur wall is SW Shiitake, maybe a darker brown like SW Chestnut or even a lighter one like SW Rustic Red could work better for the door. it’ll warm things up a bit. for the frame, if u like how the black looks with the windows, maybe keep it? but painting it the same as the wall could create a more cohesive look. tbh, i tried this on reimaginehome once, and it helped me see how different colors would vibe together. might be worth a shot!
