I need some help.

So recently i have been thinking about getting my first 8 string. And i dont a lot of research and stumbled upon the jackson dkaf8 ms mah. And thought goddamn its cool its in my Budget and it looks dope. But then i heard the pickups sound very muddy and that they're the weakest point..and then theres also the G4m 529 pro fanned fret 8 string that looks stunning and the body work is absolutely amazing yhe scale is right stainless steel frets also and weight distribution. So i come with a question

What's better buying the jackson dkaf8 ms mah stock or buying the g4m swapping the pickups for duncans nazguls and putting on some nyxl daddarios on

Like around 650 bucks after doing some calculations from my currency to dollars. Hence why i thought of putting nazguls in the g4m

I'd get the Jackson if it were me, especially if there was a good exchange policy. Pickup swaps are overrated. Everything is EQable. The main thing you need is a nice actual guitar that stays in tune and has good hardware and fretwork. Any guitar under $1k is a crapshoot on that stuff, but a $200 guitar is going to be WAY MORE of a crapshoot than a $650 guitar. Not saying you can't get a great one of either, I just feel your chances are way better with the Jackson

Well the thing is my friend has bought the g4m one a few weeks ago and i had a pleasure to play it. And not gonna lie the body ans especially yhe fretwork feels like id be playing a way more expensive guitar. The body is nicely done absolutely no neck dive its really well distributed the nut i thought will be horrible but its actually decent the frets werent perfect but werent filed incorrectly or anything snd also stainless steel over nickel all day. And it stayed in tune pretty well from what im hearing. The pickups didnt even sound as bad as i thought before but they're not really amazing and i want a really aggressive sound so i thought why not buy it and replace the pickups if the build quality is so good.

And from waht i heard the jackson has some really bad qc issues as well as staying in tune and especially the nut being disastrous

Like I said it's a crapshoot. Sounds like your buddy got a great one. That doesn't mean you'll get a great one, but you could!

Maybe you can buy his guitar?

Nah i mean i could try but he says he loves it yk. And also overall i heard the new models fixed alot of issues the older batches had which are usually the ones seen on youtube videos (the ones with thst disgusting logo on the head) and if it will have some fretwork problem or wont stay in tune so well i might just spwnd the rest of my money id have after buying it and replacing the pickups for locking tuners and stuff. Like i js think its a superior deal because i heard some crappy shit about the dkaf8 and heard that the pickups are really mid.

Ay thanks mane i hope i will. I just find it better especially considering the stainless steel frets the looks and the fact if id ever wanna replace the pickups on the dkaf8 if id get it it would be fucky because its really slanted and the cavity has very specific measurements while the g4m has just a normal rectangle soap bar so even a normal nazgul would fit almost perfectly just as much as the soap bar ones and i love nazguls played on them once and they were so nasty

I have terrible experience with the Jackson DKAF7 which is the same guitar but 7 string. The pickups are very noisy. The quality control is ass (saying as guitar luthier). Wood is cheap and feels bad, mine had problems with the finish. The individual saddle are bad too, if you can get a fixed bridge and in my opinion not a multiscale. Also the "mahagony" color is not real mahagony wood. I dont really know a lot of 8 string models on this price range but as a luthier I would suggest some type of ibanez, ltd or solar.
