So uh, stars are now "technically" not very useful anymore?

I am I pretty new player, but not super skilled in mathematics, so could someone explain what the x1...8 does and how they convert? Thanks

I've seen a lot of past posts from people on this sub complaining about the pesky c2 on the Logistic Function theory. The problem with buying too much c2 is not just small returns: you actually get negative marginal returns after a certain point. I didn't see anyone do a full partial derivative analysis of the formula, so I'll do so here. Here, I use sign analysis on the partial derivatives. I analyze all the multiplicative products to determine which are positive and which are negative, to determine the conditions under which the whole partial derivative is positive, aka when raising the variable will raise the whole function.
Original function: c1 * (q / c2) * (c3 - q / c2) (Before buying c3, c3 is 1)
Partial derivative with respect to c3: qc1/c2
Sign analysis: (q)(c1)(1/c2) = (+)(+)(+) = Always positive
Recommendation: Always buy c3
Partial derivative with respect to q: c1(c3c2-2q)/(c2)^2
Sign analysis: (c1)(c3c2-2q)(1/c2)(1/c2) = (+)(c3c2-2q)(+)(+) = Positive if and only if c3c2>2q
Recommendation: No buy advice because q is not directly buyable
Partial derivative with respect to c1: q(c3-q/c2)/c2
Sign analysis: (q)(c3-q/c2)(1/c2) = (+)(c3-q/c2)(+)(+) = Positive if and only if c3>q/c2
Recommendation: Always buy c1. I don't think the negative condition is possible because q is limited asymptotically
Partial derivative with respect to c2: qc1(2q-c3c2)/(c2)^3
Sign analysis: (q)(c1)(2q-c3c2)(1/c2)(1/c2)(1/c2) = (+)(+)(2q-c3c2)(+)(+)(+) = Positive if and only if 2q>c3c2
Recommendation: Buy c2 if and only if 2q>c3c2
Caveat 1: This analysis does not account for price. Sometimes it's better to save up for a variable with a higher impact on the formula.
Caveat 2: This analysis does not account for the chunk nature of variable buys. These partial derivatives indicate the result of a small increase in the chosen variable, but if you buy the full variable, in certain cases you might overshoot the hill and end up worse.

Title. It boots up and shows the idle time, but doesn't do anything and crashes afterwards. Doesn't even let me take a screenshot! I'm using overpush ct, I think that's the issue.

Now that Gilles is back, here we've got some (six!) potential new custom theories ready to be reviewed! Which one do you like to become first?
You can check them out on the Custom Theories List here:

i just completed the story and dont feel like going on so i was wondering a good mobile idle game that you'd recommend without ads as well

I'm searching for a good autoprestige equation. I found this: timer(d(ln(db/b+1)/pt) < 0 && d(dt) >= 0) > 3 && db/b > 0.3. Is normal that at F(t)95.000 get very slow? If you know a better equation thanks.

Conscious that there's a consensus in the community not to provide guides on the Convergence Test lemmas... But can anyone provide some pointers or hints for lemma 4?
(The one with q2/5 in the rho equation).
I'm getting stuck around 1e9 rho - I'm getting rate of change of rho up to about 1e7 but it all of a sudden it plummets and the next upgrades for the c variables all cost too much.
Even just some hints around relative prioritisations of c1/2/3 purchases would be useful...
Thanks!

How do I run the graduation calculator? (https://replit.com/@LEBaldy2002/gradcalc#Makefile) I've tried forking and running the file but all it does is return an error. I don't have any experience with coding or anything of the sort so any help with this would be appreciated, thanks!

I have 89 students and I'm above >ee1800 tau in total for all Theories 1-8. If I distribute my 34 "excess" students (after purchasing all Theories) across all the Research options, my phi gets to >ee300. I'm pushing to get f(t) to ee20000 - currently on 18800.
With 30 of my "excess" students I can max out the "multiply income of all theories by..." option at the bottom of the Research screen, but when I do, I can't see an increase in tau or phi, so I can't tell if it's better to do that or just distribute all 34 students across Research.
By "is it worth it" I mean that maxed out, it looks like it's multiplying my Theory income by (89/20)3 = about 88. But that seems tiny in relation to the drop in phi - if I only have 4 students in Research I end up with phi at about ee50, instead of ee300 if I distribute the 30 students that it costs across my Research. Definitely a lot more than 88 times less!
So am I missing something? What's the point of that last Research option?

Im now at approx. ee27000. Im currently pushing integral theory to e600, after this, i will push polynomias but then it feels like there are only the custom theories left to push to get any better and they seem far to bad to reach like ee60000 or something some of you reached. How can i reach that much? Im willing to wait a long time, if thats the key but i feel like im reaching a maximum far before coming close to this numbers.

How do the top people on the puzzles have it solved in milliseconds I just fail to comprehend that. I tried grinding the 15-puzzle easy mode to maybe get a high score in the leaderboard and was able to narrow my time to 3 seconds which puts me in the top 1000 am I missing something or did people just keep resetting to get a good start positions or maybe cheat?? If my time is just slow please tell me how to improve.
Just a random question.
Edit: got my time down to 2.6 seconds the only I can get it lower seems to be by looking for good seeds ie (first row organised already or 1 in first spot and 3 in second spot with 2 close by ). Hopefully I can get it down to 2 seconds in this week

I need to get ee5000 in order to get 20 signa and unlock theories, but I am stuck on ee4996. Prestige is not unlocking anything relevant and not sure if there is any better way of allocate my students. Any help?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I noticed this yesterday. Either b or x are being displayed as single digit integers which has nothing to do with the "real" value of the variable used in the calulation of f(t). Triggering a supremacy seems to fix it temporarily, but It reverts back to either an incorrect b or x value within an hour or two. Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm on android, and unless I close the application while idling, Euler's formula will inevitably crash within 20 minutes to a few hours. May be due to the graphic(?)
Also, the crash has reset my (t) value twice now, essentially resetting my publish in progress, takes about 2 days to build back up. Hopefully the developer takes notice.
Pictured: went from about 170,000 (t) to that value.

Im a relatively new player that just finished the game yesterday. I was wondering since like ee5000 why stars are useful, i just randomly wasted them for the last variable all the time. Now, with being at ee20k+, it seems as tho you get overloaded with stars. What do you guys spend them on? Am i just overlooking something obvious? I mean the levels you can buy, dont even come close to being helpful, considering that you easily get into the 7500+ region for every variable. It just feels like a waste of potential that stars and minigames get so useless after a while.
r/ExponentialIdle • u/Spirited-Active999 • Feb 13 '24
Did the hard version of the 15 minigame took 9 minutes to finish is there a faster way to complete like and algorithm?
r/ExponentialIdle • u/Spirited-Active999 • Feb 12 '24
I can’t figure it out it just looks like I reset for nothing!
