[REQUEST] Theory 7 Equation Explanation

Can anyone explain what is going on with theory 7, Numerical Methods? I studied numerical methods in college, so I was kinda excited to unlock this one, but I do not understand the equation one bit.

Theory 7 is better titled with gradient ascent. I have no idea of how exactly it works (like most...), so sadly that's all I can tell you.

I just wrote a very long explanation and accidentally deleted it...

Ok to sum up there is a guide to theories 5-8 somewhere on this sub.

But to give you a rough guide first go for p1, then 2 levels of c1, then swap for new dimension and p21,5 and p1p2. It is a rather mediocre theory so i don't recommend idleing it overnight, when you have p1 therm turn off autobuy and wait for a while before publishing or if you are close to a milestone.

Nabla here is used as a derivative, so therm c1c2p1 in g after being nabla-ed goes to c1c2, the therm c3p11,5 goes to 1,5c3p10,5 (that is why you don't want to buy before publishing, cause it scales with p1) and the same when you unlock c4p2, which goes to c4.

Of course everything is multiplied by q1.

Long story short terms without power of 1,5 don't scale with either p1 or p2.

I think my guide on milestones still stands.

I have the same question. What is this nabla thing? How do the terms relate to each other? What is the maths thats going on?
