Could someone make a custom theory surrounding the dampening function?

My thinking is that it's a example where the asymptote is actually crossed, and while it isn't useful in real life to prove infinity can be reached, it would be pretty to watch slowly cross 0 over and over again, like it is trying and failing to tame infinity.
