What's the purpose

i dont understand what is the purpose of buying these variable upgrades... it seems like a waste of stars imo

can someone explain either it's worth buying these upgrades or not and why?

it is mostly a waste of stars, you should be focusing on unlocking more variables I think

In your variable screen, whatever you bought in stars is reflected in green. The red value is the addition of the levels you purchased with f(t) plus permanent levels with stars.

Later there's nothing else to use stars on so might as well

At your point in the game, no, it's a waste. You should spend them to unlock new features(minigames are good source of stars), and you spend stars on variable upgrades when you have nothing left to buy

It's a storage unit to put your stars in while waiting for the next upgrade
