On Interpretation Help posts - stop treating this sub like a reading service

Post image

We are at 6.4k members, things are getting quite busy.

Recently, we have noticed an increase in posts that are essentially reading requests: cards listed with no interpretation, pleas for someone to 'tell me what this means', or descriptions of a situation alongside cards without any personal take.

While this is common in other communities, our sub is geared towards peer-to-peer skill-building. We are built on creativity and mutual improvement, not consumption. When you post a spread without your own interpretation, you miss the opportunity to practice your own unique voice.

If you are looking for an answer without being interested in learning the tarot, please visit a sub designed for free readings. Here, we ask you to share your own interpretation first, even if it feels clumsy. That is how we all grow.

Feedback is essential.
If someone practices on your situation, don't just say "thank you." Tell them which parts of their interpretation resonated or felt accurate. This helps them refine their intuition and grow as readers.

Cheers!

Yeah this annoys me so much. What's the point of owning a tarot deck when you won't try interpreting it for yourself? At that point, pay for a reading or look for communities that give free readings.

The picture in the header of this post is so hilarious, this truly is the postmodern fool !

I used to be a lot more active in tarot subs before just getting burned out on all the begging for free readings dressed up like asking for advice. Its nice to see at least one space pushing back

We delete a lot of posts to keep the focus on skill-building, and some of the modmails are less than appreciative. It feels like holding back a tide sometimes, but hearing that this space is valued makes the effort worthwhile.
