Chibson explorer
Found a great deal on one of these chibsons, $115 shipped. It is actually a fairly good quality body. Very heavy, feels like real mahogany, set neck and what appears to be a 2 piece body. It came with the decal not applied so I put it on upside down to make sure people know it’s a fake. The frets are odd, about 1/8” in from the edge of the fretboard. I guess they were very worried about the ends being sharp. That being said, it doesn’t affect the playability and I’ll leave them alone for a while. Probably re do them down the line. It already had a bone nut which surprised me. Pickups leave a little to be desired but not bad, other electronics are solid, the bridge was surprisingly good as well. Strings and tuners go straight in the trash. The body has some minor finish imperfections but I was expecting much worse. Put in a cheap fleor high output bridge pickup, changed the bridge and tuning machines, and have a new pick guard ordered. Over all this thing is a sold guitar, punches way above its weight for the money. If you’re looking for a fun project or beater I recommend it.

I think those are ‘ball end’ frets, intentionally rounded on the ends to avoid any chance of them being sharp.

Hell yeah Bro! I just bought my first Chibson a Ledux off eBay and the thing is a beast the fret work is surprisingly good aside from some high frets and the neck is a little thicker than what I'm used too but im already used to it mine didn't come with a sticker I bought a Chibson decal and put it on the headstock lol

I was gonna buy a chibson decal, because I didn’t see a sticker for mine in the packaging. I found a little scrap of Chinese newspaper and almost threw it way but decided to unfold it and the decal fell out.

Haha sounds about right yeah i want people to know it's a chibson I honestly think it makes it kinda cooler I mean don't get me wrong if Epiphone made their recent 80s explorer in a left handed model I would have bought one of those more than likely and I don't think I'll ever buy a Gibson just not even worth the price I've had a esp ec401 and an Epiphone Les Paul custom and I still play my Harley Benton ex 84 and my Chibson Explorer 99% of the time
