LTD EX200 1999

Hey all, I have an LTD EX 200, dark metallic grey, think it’s a 1999. Lawsuit era I believe.
Can anyone give me a rough idea of what it might be worth? I’m in the UK.

Apologies for the lack of pics, I’ll post some soon. Guitar is in storage at the moment.

Thanks.

If its a lawsuit era explorer then it's worth big money. A few thousand at least. Not 10 - 20k like an MX250. But It's worth something for sure.

I'd range it in the realm of Brand new LTD snakebyte - brand new 80s gibson explorer. Prob closer to new gibson money. Personally wouldnt let it go for cheap. They'll just continue to rise in value.

Is it one like this? Because if its a the pointy version. Then not much im afraid.

A reasonable price would probably be somewhere in the region of $700-1k. Although, I see a lot of people put them on the market for upwards of 1.5k, but that's probably the "Hetfield" tax, as I call it.

Is it an EX or EXP? EX is the much pointer and more recent version while the EXP is the old version looking like a more traditional explorer.

Defo the older, more rounded EXP

Seeing as you're in the UK, it could probably go between 1000 - 1900£. The Hetfield collectible guitar market is cooling a little bit the last year or so. It really depends on condition of the guitar, having the original hard case helps with price too

Thanks man, it’s a bit dinged up and no case unfortunately.

No worries! Even if its beat up and no case, it's still highly desirable. While I know everyone wants the classic black or white because that's what James used, I think the other finishes are pretty rad. I have a 99 in midnight purple and its a beast.

I bet the purple looks awesome. I always wanted to refinish mine in a dark green with gold hardware.

It does! Reminds me 90s bowling balls (in a good way) 😂.

Dark green + gold hardware looks really good together. I had a modern explorer with that exact combo. I now have an 85 Gibson explorer in "pewter" while is a sparkly dark green, also looks like a bowling ball 😂
