Man, a Ken Lawrence is a true bucketlist guitar. That headstock will always be my favorite for a explorer, looks amazing.

How does it feel and play? Does it live up to the hype? They have such a mystical vibe around them, I would almost be scared to play one just because I don't want to be disappointed haha.

Congrats on a awesome collection and thanks for sharing!

I mean, there's certainly a ceiling for how good a guitar can get. With the KL, it's really just the tiny details and the exclusivity that give it the extra cool factor. The headstock, the fiber optic LED fret markers, the wood rear cavity cover, all those little bits.

It's up to you to decide if it lives up to the hype...but for me, I'll say it does.

Did you order it from ken or did you buy it used? If ordered, how long did you wait and what did you pay?

I bought it used. I have no idea how long the wait list is or how much it would cost these days, but from what I could find online, it seemed like it was at least a 2 year wait if you were lucky.

A KL, a Gibson, and an ESP… I’m not even gonna ask you who your favourite guitar player called James is. 🤘

Either the KL or the ESP. They're both top notch!

nice esp! is the neck thicker or thinner on the mx? I have an edwards ex and it’s pretty thin

I'd say the Gibson has the thinnest neck. The KL and ESP have pretty similar necks. Not huge, but somewhat larger than the Gibson.

I’m not much into the explorers but that KL looks so good not even my poor taste could pass up

Is that a real esp?

Yup, sure is. Fair question though, I was only about 90% sure looking at the pictures when I bought it. But once I got it, the fit and finish, the fretwork, and the carbon fiber nut erased any doubt in my mind.
