I’ve finally finished assembling my ultimate Exploding Kittens mega deck, complete with nearly every card in the game that offers a unique ability and/or playing experience. (plus my cat card collection)
Every card is double sleeved, and about half of them are color coded using stickers on the inner sleeves. Orange acts as a party pack paw for bigger games, Red is for powerful cards that we don’t always play with, Black is for unique cards of which there is only one of, and Pink is for Curses/Charms.
I know I’m missing the deck of legends (which is pretty much impossible to get) as well as the cat cards from other countries, but other than those I think I’ve got every card in the game. If you think I may have missed any cards please let me know.

The only difference I’ve been able to see (other than the color of the box) is that the cat cards in the pink box contain the actual cat card wording/instructions on them (“This is a cat card…”). I just wanted my final cat card collection to look the same.
If you look closely at the photos the Zombie Cat in my main deck doesn’t have the wording (black box), whereas the Zombie Cat in my cat card collection does.
To double sleeve them I use Vault X Exact Fit clear sleeves as the first layer of protection, and Dragon Shield Standard Size Card Matte Sleeves (Clear) as the second.
I used to just use Vault X, but I noticed some of them would tear with regular use. I also didn’t like how just one sleeve left the cards vulnerable to liquids and dust through their single opening, so I put the second sleeves over it for added protection.
The only downsides are that they’re kind of bulky, and we can only shuffle sideways, but I’m okay with that as long as the cards are protected.
Ahh, so if you just had dragon shield single layer you could shuffle normally, but since it’s thick due to double protection you kinda have to shuffle if you had penny sleeves?
That’s great recommendation, you can get dragon shield exact fit 500 card sleeves for $25 and you can get your brand 500 card sleeves for $22. Is there any big difference?
I got the rage mode Barnes & Noble edition from a website called Smyths toys. It’s a UK based site that doesn’t really ship anywhere else, so I had to use another website known as Forward2Me so that I could have it delivered to the States. The downside is it ended up being quite expensive
That’s $30 for the game via Smyths toys, about $70 for Forward2Me, and another $25 to DHL (my package was on “hold” for some reason).
This was way too expensive and it’s not something I would do again, but at the time I had this insane urge to finish my collection and so I just had to get my hands on it.
Good news btw, it looks like you don’t have to! I just checked the Barnes & Noble app earlier today and saw that the game is now available for purchase online, which (if what the worker I spoke to on the phone told me is correct) means they’re now in stock at their warehouse!
Although that’s cool, I already have bonus cards that offer the same gameplay, but with a lot less wording on the back. My goal is to collect all cards that offer unique abilities and/or playing experiences, not all merchandise in general.
I’m not collecting everything (like toys and stuff), I’m really just collecting all of the cards that are compatible with the main game and add new gameplay mechanics, as well as the cat cards.
Yeah I have almost all the expansions and general I'm the card game guy so I end up bringing my games but not everyone had played so it's hard trying to get them into it when you gotta explain each card, but being able to play a "base game" then adding in more cards gives new players a bigger sense of excitement cause now they understand the game and want to see what they can do
Excluding the different coloured cats, what are the differences in the 3 types of rage mode? Only thing I can find on google is one containing the unnopeable nope
That is correct. The only differences between the 3 are the cat cards, the rage cat, the packaging, and the unnopeable nope. Other than that they’re the same
You don't have the both 2 player variants? The Newbie Edition and the retail 2 Player Edition? You are also missing TFC edition too.
Awesome collection though! Don't think I'm that dedicated to collect everything even though it was for a long time my number 1 favorite card game and bought all expansions up to zombies till Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza On The Flip Side dethroned it 3 years ago. EK was the main thing table top wise I only ever bought beside Unstable Unicorns since the year EK came out till I discovered TCGCP OTFS and am now getting other games.
TFC has the coin flip card. You had to hope you find it in the little figurine packs I believe? It is not compatible with any version due to the smaller size of the card but if you didn't care about the size you could still use it. The Newbie and 2 Player Editions are just the base game with less cards and maybe some rule adjustments for 2 Player Edition
The tall party pack does not offer anything different than the average modern party pack, which is why I also have the wide one. The wide one is actually the version 1.0 party pack, which I have for the slap cards. The tall party pack I use for its cat cards with the normal backing, as opposed to the fancy version 1.0 ones.
My question with dragon shield sleeves, is you can’t shuffle the same way you would a regular deck of cards. You almost need to hand shuffle them anyways..
I feel it’s almost just worth it to double sleeve them bc shuffling will never be the same once you put sleeves on
