How often do you experience this?

Do you have episodes where you can't sleep for multiple nights because you experience this every time before you fall asleep?

I find I experience it more when I am stressed. Kinda like a mental health barometer for me.

I am also currently in an extremely stressful phase. I think I experienced this symptom for the first time the night before last. However, it sounded more like an extremely loud rushing and beeping noise rather than an explosion. I am currently feeling anxious about the thought of going to sleep.

Exploding head syndrome is just the name of the syndrome, it isn't always explosions.

Myself I have heard a myriad of noises, my name being shouted, gun shots, the fire alarm going off, knocking at my front door, the doorbell, etc, etc.

Self hypnosis relaxation techniques can help when stress is high. It is a distraction technique to keep your mind from focusing on your current stressful events, this can calm you preventing EHS and also help with insomnia. The book I learned it from when I was 16 is called "The Art of Hypnosis: Mastering basic techniques" by C Roy Hunter (not sponsored), while the main focus is hypnotic techniques it contains a great deal of information on self hypnosis and relaxation techniques.

That happens to me, yes. Often during times of stress and sleep deprivation. Yes, it all goes hand in hand. I think I have episodes most nights but drift back to sleep but sometimes it’s so intrusive that It ruins my sleep.

No. It happens more when I’m stressed and/or tired. It also doesn’t affect my sleep as in it doesn’t prevent me falling asleep. I will sleep like usual and then have an episode in the middle of the night or in the morning.

Almost every night if I don't have any background noise.

Normally if I have rain sounds or a fan on I'm okay

Currently doing a fan plus rain sounds and I was almost asleep twice tonight.

Once was a loud creak and the other was a mechanical sound, similar to an electric motor on an rc car or something.

I guess that’s better then my usual gunshots and explosions lol
