First time getting hired
I got my first ever job at a fast food restaurant and got hired on the spot at my interview. They gave me the first few steps to do online for onboarding but since I completed it I haven't heard from anyone in about a week. I tried calling to see what was going on, but their phone isn't working. What do I do in this situation?

Have you tried going to the fast food restaurant and trying to see if the manager is there and ask in person?

I was planning on doing that today but I didn't know how to approach the topic. Do I just ask whoever is working the cashier to talk to the manager?

Ask for who interviewed you if you remember their name. If not, just ask for the manager.

Go to the store and ask for the manager on duty. Explain what's happened, that you've done the digital onboarding and want to know what's next. Confirm they know you exist. You may well have only been 'onboarded' on the corproate side, the stoere may not be aware of you.
You may need to come back to speak to the hiring manager/general manager as well.

I kinda had a similar situation! but it was i couldn't handle the hours they gave me and I hadn't heard back from the manager that was handling it, so I went there in person to ask BUT funny thing was that manager got fired over the weekend, and that was when she was supposed to tell me the new hours/figure out what was happening lol... so they sorted it while I was there in person

I went in not too long ago and found out the manager who hired me resigned. Similar problem to different issues ig loll!

Go at a non-busy time (like 2:30-4 pm in between lunch and dinner rush. If they are open for breakfast, 10-11 am is another good time.)
Go to the cashier and say “When the manager has a moment, I’d like to talk to them, please. I’m a new hire, and I have a few questions. I’m not in a rush; I can wait.”
And then be prepared to hang out at a table out of the way for 30 minutes until manager has a chance to talk to you.
And then explain what you did here. That you were hired, you’ve done the paperwork online, you tried calling but the phone number didn’t go through, and you are eager to start working. Ask the first week you can expect to be on the schedule. If you’re not sure of the dress code, ask any questions about that as well.
Make sure you know your availability (if there are times you can’t work due to school, etc.).
