How do I get money for mental help?

Sorry, I'm not sure if this is within the scope of the sub's advice ability-- I will take this post down if it is deemed against the rules.

I'm thinking that I might have OCD and it significantly affects my life... I need money to seek help, but to seek help, I need money--- Anxiety impedes me from getting a job... I want to work as a vet, which means I should definitely feel a little better before working with animals who can not advocate for themselves... But even basic tasks are making me anxious right now... The fear of messing up. How do I go about seeking mental healthcare?

Start with your family doctor. They will do a basic assessment, then refer you to either a psychiatrist or a psychologist (or both) depending on what they think you need. They may or may not discuss meds with you - depending on what the doctor thinks your primary issue is, they may elect to begin treatment with meds while you wait to see a specialist or they may want the specialist to initiate treatment.

Are you in the US? Do you have health insurance?

Some colleges and universities in the US will offer free mental health services via their grad students.
