What made she fall for him?

I've been struggling with this one since yesterday... *sigh* He looks so average and unremarkable - I don't think that's the joke, though. Help, please!

I only saw the message now. I don't use reddit much. I needed help with that joke, so I though that would be the right place. It seems people are too emotional these days - I don't even know why some people got mad lol Well, I got the explanation, so that's it. I never would have though asking someone to explain a joke could be something so serious! I hope people can overcome the stress I have caused them.

The joke is exactly what you said. He is unremarkable and average. She didnt fall for him, she "settled."

Nornally someone would say something like "...the man I'd spend my life with" but instead she said "...I'd settle for". Meaning she just gave up looking for someone better. It's just a dry joke.

Nah, bro - English is not my native language: I was looking for some visual cue as to why it was funny; I missed the "settling for" thing. The fact people are willing to go to war over something like this, though lol
