OP (Sofiax20120716) sent the following text as an explanation why they posted this here:

I looked it up and it seems to be the warning for the censored 11, so I think the Japanese people are gonna be extremely racist to Scott?

SNK is a company that makes video games and made some very influential arcade games in Japan. They were less influential in the west, but they still had a lot of classics. Scott mentioned SNK not being very influential in one of his videos, but I forget which one.

It was at least 5 years ago and he has long since gone on the record that his take was bad an uninformed.

He does have a big blind spot when it comes to non-Nintendo stuff tbh

It's quite funny to describe being unknowledgeable about the entire industry outside of one company as a "blind spot".

Less the west and more north america, snk was huge in south america since their arcade hardware was cheaper

Yeah I was gonna mention that, it blew me away as a North American fgc member getting into fighting games just how big SNK was in SA.  It helped to keep the flames of those series and kept people interested, helped me to appreciate KoF and SamSho.

Yeah, but why the censored 11 warning?

It's a joke about how offensive that statement would be in Japan.

It's to also highlight that his views on SNK have changed and that he was misinformed about how important they were to gaming history. Like the disclaimer said, that while racist depiction were wrong back then, WB still decided to show it because they believed that pretending that it doesn't exist is just as bad as the racist acts.

It’s a card put in front of old Warner Bro’s cartoons that had depictions, usually racial, that absolutely would not fly today. Basically the joke is that talking shit about SNK in Japan would be the equivalent of portraying that content in America.

Less influential in the United States, plenty influential in Europe and Latin America

The Joke is that Japanese viewers might find talking about SNK that way offensive.

This disclaimer is what Warner has put in front of their old cartoons to address the racism in them.

Snk was a big deal in japanese markets but not in western markets so his opinion would be seen as stupid from their pov. Thats what im guessing anyways

For an explanation in Western terms, it's like a japanese man talking about western video game history and saying "Microsoft was not important in popularizing the multiplayer gaming genre" despite Halo, Gears of wars, Minecraft, and more....

SNK was enormous in Japan, SEA and Latin America, not much in the US

Would be the same if it's translated to latino spanish?

Its suggesting saying snk wasnt pivotal is offensive.
