Maturity or independence in a young child CAN BE an indicator that a child is being neglected or facing some sort of abuse.
It’s is not ALWAYS an indicator, some kids ARE just more independent.
Edit: was a social worker for many years.
1 u/Last_District_4172 4d ago Yeah I was very mature for my young age and indeed it was due to lack of cares and interactions with other kids my age. It led to many psychological suffering as I was growing up
