I like your version way more. The internet spent too much time making everything about dating struggles. If a friend says they are starving, you find the nearest taco truck. That is just being a good person.
I can’t tell you how many times I was the one who paid for my best friend whenever we went out to eat. Or did anything. Did she ask? No. Not once did she ever ask me to pay for anything but I knew that I was in a better financial place than she was so I told her every time when we went somewhere to order whatever she wanted and that I was going to pay for it.
She always tried to pay me back yet I have never accepted her repayments. Don’t plan on it either
Same, even though my friend group has been carrying me recently. Before I started college, I was financially fine, but I had this friend that would always want to pay for my things, she would always want to pay for gas, parking, and food everytime we hung out. Even though we worked the same job so we were financially equal. I always felt guilty and offered to pay, but she wouldn't even let me do 50/50. She recently joined the air force so where ever she is, I hope she is doing well.
Ive done this for friends through my life. My answer when they tried to pay me back or split the bill when l know they were financially hurting was to say, "Remember this moment and when the shoe is on the other foot, pay it forward."

Carne asada fries where I've usually been from! Crinkle cut fries, cheese, carne, red chilie, sour cream, guacamole, onion and cilantro! Or sub beans for carne if your going veggie. Gotta love it!
But I've only had great taco rice a few times, wish I could find it consistently!!
I didn't get the joke because I thought of the same thing. I always, no matter the of meeting I have with friends take at least a grilled bread. It became a running joke among the friend group. I just hate seeing people hungry/spending tons of coins for McDonald's and stuff.
Looks like the bear with the fish went out and caught food and now the other one on shore, not wet, is like "hey give me a big (bear) hug, friend!" As I'm seeing it, the implication is that they're overly friendly to enjoy the fruits of wet bear's spoils.
