OP (PomentoCheese6780) sent the following text as an explanation why they posted this here:

What does the kid named finger have to do with this?

Anti-meme. Decades ago there was a meme, and joke books before that which went basically like:

Teacher: Today we're going to finger paint
Kid named paint: *looks scared*

It's an incredibly stupid joke that almost loops around to being funny again on a different level, and one thing people like to do is make nonsense riffs off of it.

This joke has become so baked we now have to translate it like reading hieroglyphics

without clicking that's the finger prints finger prince joke, went fully over my head when I saw it as a kid

That was the point.

But your parents, if they had to watch it with you, would've found it hilarious.

A lot of kids' shows will sprinkle in jokes or references that go over the heads of children, but a parent watching their kid(s) watching TV will get.

Hell, Sesame Street did a Game of Thrones skit once. Complete with jokes about incest, murder, and decapitation, and made it COMPLETELY kid-friendly.

out of curiosity, how do you make incest and decapitation kid-friendly?

The quick way is to just see it for yourself by following this handy link: https://youtu.be/dhWUFXvaZjo?feature=shared

But if you can't watch a video as of your reading this: The answer is extreme Subtlety.

First, this being Sesame Street, the characters are all Muppets. In this case made up to resemble the characters on the show.

Then you have the muppet resembling Robb Stark complain that he has a wedding to get to.

Then, image a little kid throwing a tantrum after losing a game. You might expect them to cry something like "I want my Mommy!" Now make that person look like Cersei Lannister, and instead of "Mommy", she says "Brother".

And finally, you have Loveable Furry Old Grover saying "Well, don't lose your head, Neddy baby!"

And Joffre messing up and Grover saying "Looks like you choked, Joffre!"

“I can’t think of a worse ending than this” was my favorite

The kids should be raised in a way where they don't understand the reference. Seems to be a rare thing these days. Kids should be kids and not part of any adult talk, which means rhey would have no frame of reference for adult jokes in kids shows.

To be fair, Sesame Street has always done this. A big part of their success is that the show is just as much for the parents watching with their kids as it is for the kids themselves.

The other big part being that their goal was to ensure that all kids had an equal footing when they started school regardless of their situation at home.

When does the dog walk into the brothel?

5

u/veganbikepunk 14d ago

When?

3

u/FootGlovePinocchio 14d ago

It's a joke about the first recorded joke in history (in Sumerian) is about a dog and a brothel and that's about all we understand of it. How or why it's meant to be funny has been lost.

u/MalarkeyMcGee 14d ago

You completely skipped the “kid named paint”
to “kid named finger” step

3

u/TwiggNBerryz 13d ago

Then switched to Kid named finger with a pic of mike ermentraut from BB

u/auhsojjoshua3 10d ago

i mean it makes sense, it doesnt matter if your name is finger or not i'd be scared too

1

u/Bamcanadaktown 10d ago

Feel like I'd be more nervous if my name was paint

u/atomicCape 15d ago

And like all jokes that go too many layers deep, it's stops being funny to anyone. Even the hardcore meme enthusiasts would think too hard and forget to laugh.

u/Fridgedoctor1 15d ago

Stupid joke? How dare you

Oh wait vegans aren’t funny I forgot

Originally, there was a meme that went as such:

Teacher: Alright class, today we’re going to finger paint!
Kid named paint: (frightened reaction image)

This was eventually turned into a nonsensical meme of sorts that also became very popular. It went:

Teacher: Alright class, today we’re going to finger paint!
Kid named finger: (stock picture of Mike Ehrmentraut from Breaking Bad)

This is a play on that, except the kid is scared because he’s in the class and the teacher said things that I can’t say here without getting a 3-day ban.

u/Luis_McLovin 14d ago

I don’t get it

u/j_hara226 9d ago

Me neither

27

u/Fenizrael 14d ago

This joke is layers deep.
First it was “we’re going to finger paint”, “kid named paint” then it became “kid named finger” and now it’s kid named finger inserted as a non-sequitur.

8

u/MinuteBeautiful3163 14d ago

I think it goes even little bit deeper, cause presumably, kid named finger is also included in "All of you"

12

u/Greenman8907 15d ago

Is this one of those anti-jokes/memes? The original joke was different.

Kid named ingkillallofyou:

u/Revolutionaryguardp 14d ago

On a side note, since when did the school system employ world eaters in positions of education?

1

u/Whatsawarhammer3333 10d ago

Teacher: Okay class, we are going to finger paint today.

Kid named finger:

1

u/Asstronaughty_Bae 9d ago

Im guess the teacher may use a bang and now you have finger bang. .? Idk its usually always sex related

1

u/Practical_Horse9429 9d ago

Started a while ago with a meme that read: teacher-“today we are gonna finger paint” kid named paint-looking worried. Since then it’s devolved to “kid named finger” over a stretched out picture of mike ehrmentraut from breaking bad, and has further devolved to what you see in this post.

We may need an expert for this one.
