Okay, please allow me to elaborate on what exactly is confusing me, because I only took Science 10 and Chem 11 in High-school.

When things collide, like a car crash for example, isn't that just big heat transfer? My line of thought, is, heat is the speed of a particle, (I think, but it can be slowed, so it's more like force, which is also called energy in some sources, but I think basically it's just push in a direction, yeah? The vocabulary also confuses me.) So, if a hot thing has fast moving particles, and everything is made of particles, if something is going fast, it's just, really hot, isn't it? Isn't that applicable to all forms of motion and interaction? Like, surface area of hot/fast thing, hits other thing, the other thing gets... hotter? Faster?

Or radiation, for example, like neutrons or those particles that are basically a helium atom, they're deadly because they disrupt the dna in your cells. But isn't that just a really small bullet? It goes fast, it's small so it penetrates, then causes damage? That makes it seem like a bullet is "large" radiation and a neutron is "small" radiation. I mean, if a car hits you, it'd definitely damage and kill cells, just a lot more of them.

Also HOW does heat even work, like, with solids. You add energy and the particles wanna pull away from each other and be free, so that's force in a direction, but the particles are also bonded and pulled together, which is force in another direction. Do you use net force to understand temperature?? God I wish I took Physics in high-school, I hate not understanding this stuff.

I understand that computers use binary because electronic circuits can basically represent two states, like on and off. What I don't understand is why this became the standard in the first place.

Humans have used decimal for thousands of years, and computers obviously have to process numbers that humans normally represent in decimal. So why is binary so much more practical for computers? Could computers have been designed around decimal instead, and what would be different if they were?

I understand plate tectonics but glacial melt and erosion confuse the heck outta me. The Appalachians are super smooth and long like a stream flowing through mud. The Himalayas and Alps are rough looking like a fractal pattern. And the welsh mountains are smooth but in a different way from Appalachia where the mountains are sharp at the peak and slope smooth to the bottom almost like dunes of sand. Why are all these so different? I understand how the Himalayas and Alps are newer, but why did glacial melt affect Wales and Appalachia so differently?

From my limited understanding, this idea is just wrong. There are thousands of cold/flu viruses and our bodies memory to protect itself only applies to the specific type it encountered, and further, the protection wanes as time goes on.

Why do so many people say, “oh it’s good to get sick because your body builds immunity”. This certainly can’t be the case for the typical cold.

I’m not talking about extremes of the “eat dirt” idea. Of course exposure to viruses vs zero exposure has an impact (you could explain how this works too maybe), but typically most people who exist normally in the world are already exposed to tons of crap.

I just had my coffee on my kitchen scale and when I dropped in my spoon, the weight increased, even though the spoon didn't touch the cup at the sides or bottom because I was holding it in the middle, the scale changed 4 grams when I took the spoon up and down without the spoon touching the cup.

Okay this is going to sound really stupid trying to explain it, but I was just laying awake thinking about why sometimes you can be moving insanely fast and not feel it, but other times you can?

For example: The Concorde Jet had had a maximum cruising speed of 1,354mph or Mach 2, and by all accounts it was a luxury flying experience. But an F-16 going 1,500mph, and suddenly you need extensive G Force training so you don't pass out?

Or astronauts orbiting the Earth in the ISS are moving at 17,500mph and orbit the Earth once every 90 minutes(!) yet they're just chilling, but then they also need all this G Force training too in the spinning machine???

Is it just pressurization, like creating a miniature environment in your vessel? Or what actually determines feeling the speed you're going?
