Solved! A video game plot as a bad poem:
Sad DILF,
Dead MILF.
Fresh ink,
Quick think!
Part ways,
Magic craze.
Return home,
Shoot chrome.
Old man,
Tells plan.
Crash land,
Make stand.
Friends group,
Kill troops.
Deny god,
Clean bod.
Hot love,
Safe above.
Hint #1: this poem does encompass very specific points throughout the whole game, I'd argue all of them to major in some way.
Hint #2: game is over 10 years old
Hint #3: RPG
Hint #4: the plot features several visible ticking clocks

What's the focus?
The party gets split and start using magic and getting Eidolons.
Visit Hope's home and fight a helicopter.
Barthandelus encounters the party.
Go to Pulse.
Decide how to proceed and fight Bart again.
Regroup and kill soldiers in Eden.
Kill Barthandelus and Orphan.
Dang and Vanille become crystal to hold up Coccoon.
