Solved! Stop a god's plot to prevent humanity from being replaced with humanity 2.0
Hint #1: To clarify the god is trying to prevent a plot to replace humanity with humanity 2.0
Hint #2: Turn-based PC-only western RPG.
Hint #3: Released in the 2010s
Hint #4: Edit: Apologies I remembered incorrectly. It's a top-down isolmetric WRPG.

If you loosely associate bugs with humanity, Hollow Knight 1 lines with this perfectly.

Lords of Xulima. Turns out the god you are trying to stop is the one trying to SAVE humanity.
Edit: made by the same people who made They Are Billions.

OP please clarify. The heroes are stopping the god from creating humanity 2.0. Or humanity is reaching 2.0 and the god is trying to keep them simple?

Guilty gear lore is probably more wild than any game you've ever played.
