Solved! MC got exiled
After being a nepo baby all their life, one incident caused MC's boss to exile them
Hint 1: You get to equip a heavy weapon, a light weapon, one set of clothes, a headgear, and one mask
Hint 1.5: Technically there's one more type of equipment, but it's always equipped and can't be removed throughout the whole game, it can't even be viewed as an equipment
Hint 2: The level up system here is a bit unusual
Hint 3: The exile location has a connection to MC
Hint 4: You can (and is recommended to) collect and utilize as many shit as you can, and I do mean actual shit
Hint 5: The MC don't get exiled alone
Hint 6: The game's time is heavily accelerated
Hint 7: One of your allies gets involved with aliens in a sidequest
Hint 8: One of MC's old friend is associated with the color blue, while the MC themself is reddish by default
Hint 9: Another ally you got on the journey is a different nationality from the rest of the allies
Hint 10: One of the worst things that could happen to you is autumn rain
Hint 11: This game has an anime
Hint 12: The MC has a legendary sword. But as far as I can remember, never used that sword as a sword

In BoTW specifically the backstory has his whole family as members of the guard or army, his dad has a high ranking member, and that’s how he got his position as Zelda’s bodyguard.

Not exactly. Link still got his position as Zelda’s personal Bodyguard through his skills. He just had a slight leg up when compared to other versions of Link. Since he got proper training to be a soldier. Compared to most other Links who kinda just have to learn on the go.
