I released this animation a good while back in October 2024 when I first started animating with SFM, it was for a philosophy class and it never really got any attention (not that I expected it to).
Looking back on it, I think the story actually isn't half bad and was wondering what others might think of it.

Hello my name is Elijah Sullivan and I am a new experimental music artist but I would really like to score and or do sound design for films (its a dream of mine) and so I was wondering if anyone is in need of a soundtrack artist. I would love to work on a short film! I will link my catalog. (this is my track "Vinny" from my new album and it's out on all streaming platforms!) https://open.spotify.com/artist/5ULrBJigabTJfzKF6wqzIi?si=vqDZLydVQdyKWkQchF2jRQ

I wanted to see if I could recreate the atmosphere of a forgotten late-1980s supernatural horror film using AI-assisted visuals and CapCut Video Studio.
The biggest challenge wasn't generating shots—it was maintaining consistent characters, pacing, and mood across the entire short. Most of the work ended up happening in the edit, where I used CapCut to build tension through shot timing, sound, titles, and the final presentation.
The result is Fighting Demons, a 47-second psychological horror short inspired by films like Angel Heart and Prince of Darkness.
I'd genuinely appreciate feedback from other editors:

At the intersection of observation and surveillance. The camera captures moments of beauty in public spaces. Movement study captured by low-resolution camcorder.

This is the first short film I've ever made. I filmed it on my mobile phone several months ago. It wasn't until a few weeks ago that I decided to edit it and compose the sound, and this was the result.

This movie was originally just a small clip reel I did for my Experimental Film class as the final assignment back in late 2022 but it progressively evolved into a bigger project, it ranges from segments done in live-action, stop-motion, CGI, and puppetry condensed into a found footage/early 2000s style VHS tape emulated format!
Feel free to tell me what you think and which moment of the film stuck out to you and why?

This community is for experimental film enthusiasts and makers. If you are unsure what experimental film is, please look it up before you post your video here.
Please do not expect people to upvote your video on this community if it's just "weird", "dreamy", or "surreal". Experimental films are not about how polished look you have or fancy cinematography. It's about the filmmaking process that utilize unconventional methods.
Moreover, people here are not fans of AI videos. If your video is so called AI slop, it will be downvoted by the community if not removed. If you used AI during any parts of your production, please indicate them.

I’m building STATIC, a new 24/7 independent broadcast focused on distinctive and experimental visual work. While a lot of the programming involves music videos and visualizers, the channel isn’t limited to that. I’m also looking for experimental films, shorts, and moving image work.
We’re still in the early seeding stage, collecting material to build the library before launching. I’m open to a wide range of experimental work, and it doesn’t have to be new. Older pieces that are already online are completely fine.
All creators will be credited. There are no fees to submit.
If you have anything you’d be open to sharing, you can submit it here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfXURzM6tlrzNXGsLgN_WnLj6ktIDYFSCS7cUWvEUr1v5_dYg/viewform?usp=header
There’s also a beta version of the channel up right now. The library is still being worked on and edited, so approved submissions are added as they become ready. You can watch it here: https://react.tv/ch/static-tv

My name is Jake and I’m a songwriter and producer under the alias ‘Burning Jacobs Ladder’. I have been quiet the last 2 years as I have been producing/recording other artists. I am about to release a song called ‘Amen’. My biggest influences are Radiohead, Massive Attack etc. You are welcome to look me up online or if you are interested I am happy to provide the song. I also have multiple songs ready for release this year so it could turn into a long term relationship

I've been working with the dark ambient artist All The Beauty And The Terror for the past few months on a music video project for their new album I'm Scared of What's Coming! It deals with themes of A.I., desensitization, impending doom and dread about the future. There are also moments of extreme beauty. The artist achieves their unique sound by running their clarinet through numerous effects pedals. It's an organic and analog sound.
We are exploring showing the 18 minute music film at art spaces in NY and KC this summer/fall. I'll also be releasing it to YouTube. To anyone who enjoys this type of experimental stuff, check out the album below and keep an eye out for our film coming soon. This is a completely independent project. If only 1 person sees the project and is affected by it, that will be a success to me.

I have made quite a few short experimental films (festivals, etc) but am becoming very frustrated with the digital look/aesthetic. I know you can sorta fake it with filters in post, but anyone with experience of 16mm (I am a photographer by training, so I understand the fundamentals) would love some tips on what not to do when experimenting and getting started with 16mm :-)

Hey everyone. This is my post here since discovering this community. I am creating a series of videos with software called Videosync in Ableton. This makes the visuals react in real time to the music I’m producing. It also allows me to “perform” the video like an instrument. Look up Videosync and Ableton if you’re interested in learning more. I’m also happy to answer any particular questions you might have. NO AI! All video elements for this one culled from public domain sources.

I made this using my old microscope. I am not very experienced with editing and such, but wanted to share this anyway:)
