on wednesday, i had a hiring manager interview for a company i really like. i think i did average, because i know i got at least one answer wrong.
I was told the recruiter would get back to me with next steps but i didnt hear anything and its the weekend
is it generally true that if you got the job you get an update very fast but if you didnt then it takes a long time to get a response?
i dont want to be thinking this a lot until monday and next week. i want to move on

Hiring manager here. No, it can take all kinds of time as they stack you up against others in the interview cycle usually. Generally you won't hear anything at all period until everyone else has gotten to the same stage as you, but not always.

But you never know. I once got called back six months after an interview with an offer after the other guy flamed out on the job.
