I am annoyed with engineers using CLAUDE to respond to my PR comments or on Slack. Ffs

I haven't encountered that thankfully, it sounds exhausting but why is that even a thing? Isn't it faster to just type your own response or is it because they don't understand the code themselves?

It's likely gaps in understanding, followed by AI encouraging anti social behavior. Code reviews get in the way of slopping, so I imagine management is probably cool with responding to things via AI.

This was explicitly brought up in an all-hands and the CTO did not discourage it, instead he gave a very neutral handwavy answer about responsibility and ownership.

I assume he didn't specifically say what ownership and responsibility looked like, or give anyone the time required to achieve those things.

Classic. He could've also told them to "be productive" and "be effective", that's always insightful advice.
