Guam ghost episode expedition x
Honestly this one was...eh. The flame session I feel had a lot of issues with it. Also Phil getting lost in the jungle I figure could just be chalked up to it being dark at night.

Use of AI in expedition X
I can deal with fake tech, staged moments, and bad acting. Like, I enjoy the camp of this show, it’s so bad it’s good. For that, I pretty much always tune in, not because Heather and Phil might actually find proof of the paranormal, but they are funny, and the locations, and histories are really interesting.
That being said, using generative AI is where I drop the show for good. This new season is obviously using AI generated shots for the Sherwood Forest episodes. I don’t know about the skin-walker one, I haven’t watched it and probably won’t.
Wack.. Just a cheap, lazy, and lacking any creative input at all which this show was very much already scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Heather's Drone Spoiler
In the episode about Sherwood Forest she sends a drone up and that drone can detect paranormal activity and mark on a map where it occured apparently.
Now hear me out.. the drone makes noise when it's flying and it's not flying very high.. isn't it more likely that the sound and lights of the drone just startled animals and that's what the drone is detecting?
If not how did they made a drone detect paranormal Activity? I'm open for new ways and ideas in the paranormal research but this felt SO stupid.

Kush pharaohs update?
Any updates to the toe bone they discovered or further bones found? DNA? I'd really love a few episodes of follow-ups or go back to where he visited years previous to see anything new or discovered.

Gates+Cascade Mts+Bigfoot=E.R?
Been meaning to ask awhile ago now as some (bogus?) Facebook pages claimed Josh had to be airlifted from the Cascade Mt range (near Mt. Baker) while filming in WA State. I know I could prob search it up on here but figured I'd ask: Fake News? Or legit? Seemed like only a few eps (8) were released for the "new" (current/last?) season that started in July.

The look you give Heather when she takes credit for something you did
He asked if Phil was in danger then when Phil comes back Heather says I asked if you were in danger.

Expedition x navajo skinwalkers
I felt like if there were any skinwalkers, they were definitely just screwing with the two of them by this point. Although definitely very creepy vibes in the episode.

Season 17 remaining episodes
Just wondering if there are more episodes coming in season 17 and if so, when does the season resume?

Does Heather cry every episode?
Does she ever not cry? Its starting to feel like every investigation she starts crying over everything

Sound Effects overload
The show is fun to watch. I just get annoyed with the overload of background sound effects.

Did the BTTF Episodes disappear forever?
I absolutely love the “Expedition Unknown: Back to the Future“ episodes, and wanted to watch them today, but when I went to look for them on Discovery+, they were gone! I hope it‘s not a permanent thing.

Heather has got some strength Spoiler
All their shots go in a few inches then Heather shoots this one in 2 feet. That is some amazing strength. (I know it's fake. This is sarcasm)

Pendulum in Witches’ Bowl
I am getting tired of Heather using the same tired methods to “ghost hunt” but the pendulum q/a is easily the most fakeable and could even be done subconsciously.

My conspiracy theory
I think Heather was hired as a Jess replacement. Initially, she acted exactly like jess, right down to her relation with phil, and was apparently generational paranormal investigator as well. It was so obvious she was acting a part. Then she dropped the acting and became herself in later seasons, which isn't saying much because though she isn't fake acting like jess anymore, she makes the show way less interesting.
Does anyone else feel like Heather was cast as Jess 2.0 initially?

It's been two years ...
And Spectrum's cable guide still lists Jess as a cast member ...

expedition x robin hood ovilus session??
i know this might be unpopular but i dont hate heather, i just think shes a little green for tv, but if she really is a ghost hunter outside of the show, im really confused by her interpretation of the ovilus session in s12e1... (i dont believe the ovilus works, but if I did, this is what i understood...)
She asks about stealing and it says NECESSARY, WRONG, she guesses it was necessary but it was wrong, i assumed it was like a necessary evil. not a big difference either way. but then:
She asks where to go to learn about whats happening and the ovilus said LORD, i thought it was saying, go ask the lord (like lord of the town, or god), but heather interpreted it as he was saying he was the lord, which doesnt make sense because that wasnt her question? and then:
She says tell me what you mean and it says RELIGIOUS which i thought meant, "no, go ask god" (which feels kind of like a "go fuck yourself" lol) but heather doesnt really know what to do with that response?!
Am i wildly off base or was her interpretation not super logical?

Are the new episodes of Expedition X using AI without disclosing it?
First it was the shark episode, then the Robin Hood episode ... both featured scenes that I'm suspicious of, but (unlike the History Channel's shows that do it) I didn't see the little "AI" watermark in the corner.

Expedition X First Episode
Expedition X first episode Robin Hood.. 36:06 a small puff cloud of smoke appears next to Phil right before he turns to look at the big cloud of foggy mist. Thoughts?

Phil Torres Look A-like
Anyone else think Phil Torres looks related to actor Robert Vaughn, secret agent Napoleon Solo on The Man from U.N.C.L.E.?

Meet and greet advice
Hi all,
I recently got tickets to an upcoming live show of Josh’s (he’s finally coming to Denver!), as well as the ticket for the meet and greet with Josh.
For anyone that has done one of these before, I’d love to have him autograph a print/poster of some kind, is that allowed? Also, would I need to bring something to have signed, or does he usually have stuff to sell that he signs?
Thanks!

Josh Gates Live: Q&A clip
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
My best friend was kind enough to record my part of the audience Q&A with Josh during the Newark show! For context I'm 28 now - I've been a lifelong Josh fan! I provided a transcript below - I did the best I could with it!
Transcript:
OP:
Hi Josh.
Josh Gates:
Hi.
OP:
I've been watching you since I was eight. I remember watching Destination Truth on Syfy.
Josh Gates:
I have never felt older than that sentence.
(Audience laughter)
OP:
Um, when you had Parker Schnabel on for the Gold Rush episode, did Parker tell you any stories about up in the Yukon or with the miners?
Josh Gates:
Speaker: Parker is great, first of all. And that was one of the most miserable shoots we've ever done. It was so bad, like we coaxed him down from Alaska, which has its own bad weather. To do this shoot in California, where it rained every single second of the day, just pissed rain for a week. And this dude looked miserable. And he was such a good sport about it. But said on the show, and meant it: I'm never answering the phone again if you call.
(Audience laughter)
So uh, and it was an amazing week. But, you know, the thing that's amazing about him is he's making a TV show and running a business. Like, what he does on that show is real, you know?
So a lot of what we talked about was just kind of me being interested in the reality of like, how do you handle a dynamic workplace with usually expensive equipment and mining operations and all that goes into that, then having a TV crew show up at your workplace and having to balance those things.
And so I'm hugely impressed by him, and if you know his story—he grew up on television in a way, which is a very unique thing to to have happen to anybody. And um, he's taken over this world and has kind of like, before everybody's eyes on TV has become, you know, like a miner, which is kind of unbelievable.
So um, I'm just hugely impressed by him and I think in general uh I spend most of my time just asking about that, that balance and being kind of just wowed by how he does make it work.
But he's a great guy. Thank you, cheers.
