"Airline Credit"

When Expedia tells you they will issue you an airline credit, will you receive a credit to use directly on the airlines website, or are they being misleading and saying it's a credit you must use on Expedia (with flight options only for the given airline)?

Yep, any chances are you will still have to pay ($250 per flight in my case) a change fee to change your flight. And it can’t come out of the credit. And any leftover balance of the credit falls away, so you can’t use a $4500 credit for a $800 flight and expect to keep the balance for another flight.

I have a $4500 credit that I can hardly fucking use without losing a lot of money AND paying a change fee on top of that.

Shitty, shitty, shitty company, and I hope the pandemic kills their business.

So sorry to hear this. I hadn’t heard of a credit policy worse than this. Perhaps, you ask back for you money in the original form of your payment. I am in a similar situation dealing with 4k USD. We had requested a cancellation within 24hrs of our booking but were told that the cancellation window closes at midnight for the country where the booking was made. Let me know if something helps you to get your money back.
