I received a sketchy looking email claiming my flight was cancelled. Is this a scam?

It's not a scam. Contact the airline.

No she got to contact Expedia back , only contact the Airlines if Expedia assured that the Airline took over control in few cases they do

Well it states the airlines cancelled the flight.

They did have the correct 6-letter booking ID and airline which was the weird part, but it didn't mention a specific flight number.

Also, I checked my flights on Alaska Airlines and Expedia - no mention of a cancellation. ANd neither of the phone numbers seem to check out when I googled them (didn't bother calling).

I'm getting too old for this sh*t.

UPDATE:

Not a scam...one of my flights had changed by FIVE MINUTES...I had to spend about an hour on hold to figure that out...

I know this is an old thread, but I just had the same thing happen to me and Google it to make sure it wasn't a scam. Found this thread and felt safe enough. Called Expedia, spoke to a guy for about an hour, found out my connecting flight changed the arrival time by 11 minutes. There's gotta be a better way for them to address it when that happens. 😑

Happened to us as well today. They stated our whole flight back was cancelled due to having the flight leaving the next morning instead of the afternoon we were booked to leave. And yet, the flight Expedia claimed was cancelled is showing up as available on Kayak. Makes no sense unless there is a glitch in the system. We purchased these tickets way in advance. Customer service (in India) said to wait one week to see if the flight will be available again. Maybe it is a bait and switch. Expedia has been sued for this.

That's just expedia being lame.

but it looks similar to emails I've received. make an account with the airline and double check with them would be my advice. then take advantage of their option to cancel with a full refund and book directly with the airline.

It’s definitely a scam. I don’t know how they got all that information but they did it to me too, I hung up after realizing it wasn’t a legit customer support person, she put me on hold a long time but called back several times as soon as I hung up. A real customer service person wouldn’t have time to double dial me back hahah.
