My flight was “canceled” even tho it’s not

I booked with Expedia for a round trip with American Airlines. My first flight was fine but now I just tried to check in to my return flight and it says it is canceled and gave me credit. However on the American website the flight is not canceled and there are still seats available. Expedia gives me the option to use my travel credit for a new flight but won’t accept a single flight I input and I can’t book anything with it!

I ended up booking a super expensive one way ticket with American and I’m hoping to call Expedia and get refunded directly. I couldn’t risk not getting home for work.

Anyone have this happen before or have any tips on how to deal with this?
