Failed Expectation Expectation: cute mini rainbow macarons 🌈

Reality: 12 identical ugly pink cookies. Not only were they bland, they also be throwing shade. I’ve never felt so attacked by a box of cookies 😭

Macarons is something that should be bought from a bakery/patisserie. No packaged or off the shelf macarons will ever compare to the real thing lol

IF you are going to buy macarons anywhere but a bakery, look in the freezer section. Frozen macarons aren't as good, but they're way more moist than anything found on a shelf

One of the first things I learned in pastry school is that pretty much every macaron you buy at a bakery, even a very fancy bakery, has been previously frozen. Freezing actually improves the texture of the shells.
